Reborn From Oblivion (Nellie and Cameron) novel Chapter 1014

True to her belief that wasting food was a crime, Nathalie scraped and picked at her plate until not a crumb was left. She’d never eaten so much in her life—by the time she finally stood up, her stomach felt ready to pop.

Morris noticed right away and quickly took her hand. “Come on, Nathalie, let’s get some fresh air. A little walk will do you good.”

Before they could move, Lincoln got up, all stern and imposing, and gently pried their hands apart. “Morris, that’s enough. I’ll take my daughter for a walk myself.”

Morris looked downright disappointed. Lincoln turned to him with a serious look. “You should go talk to your father about marrying my daughter. And let me be clear—I only have one precious girl, and her wedding has to be nothing short of perfect. Until we’ve worked out every detail, don’t come over uninvited.”

It was his way of saying yes.

Morris almost beamed, barely hiding his excitement.

“Dad…” Nathalie mumbled, not wanting to leave Morris, especially while he was still recovering.

Lincoln squeezed her hand. “Don’t worry about him. If he can’t sort this out, you’re in for a tough time with the Sharp family.”

Morris grinned at her father. “Don’t worry, sir. I’ll make sure the wedding is grand—everyone will know how lucky I am to marry Nathalie.”

Nathalie pouted. “So, does this mean we won’t see each other for ages?”

Lincoln just chuckled. “You’ll have your whole lives to be together. No need to rush.”

But Nathalie still looked glum, her worry for Morris written all over her face.

“Morris, don’t push yourself. Your health comes first,” she said softly, then leaned up to whisper in his ear, “If you’re short on cash, just ask me. I’ve got plenty.”

Morris couldn’t help but chuckle.

He gently held Nathalie’s face and, without warning, kissed her. Nathalie’s eyes went wide; her whole body jolted with surprise.

Morris whispered, “Nathalie, I’ve wanted to do that for so long. I’m so happy you’re finally mine.”

Nathalie’s cheeks turned the color of ripe cherries.

Lincoln’s scowl deepened, his whole face creasing up. “You two have the rest of your lives together—why are you in such a hurry?”
