Chapter 6
Jensina’s limp worsened as she left the Herring mansion.
Over the past three years, whenever Coleman didn’t return with her, she would be punished.
She was used to it.
Coleman just didn’t know that every time he tried to demonstrate his feelings for his true love, he was actually pushing her into a corner.
The Herring family didn’t need a useless daughter who couldn’t even hold onto her husband’s affection.
The butler, Noah Riley, sighed, “Why did you have to be so truthful? You could have made up a more serious excuse to fool Madam Herring, and this wouldn’t have happened.”

“Noah,” Jensina replied, her gentle face showing no resentment.“Grandma raised me. I could lie to anyone, but never to her.”
Noah gazed at her red, swollen palm with a genuine warmth in his eyes. “Hurry up and go to the hospital.”
“Okay.” Jensina nodded, not saying anything more.
Patrick had already been sent away.

Each step was a pain for Jensina.
Since she was young, she thought Vanessa was cruel and heartless.
Eliza would just tell Juanita to kneel in the yard, but Vanessa had servants take her to kneel on a road covered with small stones.
In this weather, kneeling at first felt kind of nice with the snow.
It was just really cold, not painful.
As she knelt, the ice and snow melted, leaving only sharp, uneven stones.
When she was completely numb, a servant would come with a ruler to hit her palms.
It really hurt, torn and bleeding.
The Herring’s mansion was on Hillside Road, close to nature, with a beautiful environment.
Jensina finally got a ride by offering extra money. Since it was late and snowing, the driver only agreed to wait at the foot of the mountain.
Each step down was tough.
It was winter, but the pain on her back made her break into a light sweat.
Far off, on a snowy and slippery road, a long black Bentley crawled slowly.
The driver, with keen eyes, instinctively sped up to tail.“Boss, I think that’s Ms. Warren up ahead.”
In the back seat, Stanley Herring lounged, his long legs casually crossed. His face, shrouded in the dim night, appeared intense and sharp, cold
and stern.
The aura of authority was palpable.
Hearing this, he didn’t even lift his gaze and just grunted very lightly.
It was hard to tell what he was feeling.
The assistant in the passenger seat couldn’t take it anymore and said, “Boss, aren’t we going to help Ms. Warren?”
“You really want to help her?” Stanley’s deep, magnetic voice sounded, carrying a hint of coldness.
The assistant dared not say anything more.
After a while, Stanley finally glanced at that shaky figure through the windshield, his eyes narrowing a bit. Check what Coleman did tonight.”
“I’ve checked already. He is most likely being all lovey–dovey with Juanita right now,” the assistant in the passenger seat answered quickly.

Then he reminded, “Boss, Ms. Warren probably knelt in the snow for hours again. She might not be able to hold on much longer.”
As soon as he finished speaking, the figure ahead fell straight to the ground.“Boss, just as I said…”

The car door banged shut as Stanley stepped out, his face cold. He wrapped Jensina in his cashmere coat against the snow and lifted her up.
The assistant quickly got out and opened the back door, asking, “Hospital or somewhere else?”
“Go back to Rosehill Vista first,” he ordered.
“Yes.”
“Have the doctor wait there.”
“I just did.”
The driver, quick on his feet, turned up the AC.
The car’s interior was lit up. When Stanley’s gaze flicked to her knees, a chill flashed in his dark eyes, but his tone remained as detached as ever.“That’s quite ruthless.”
The assistant grumbled, “When has Madam Herring ever gone easy…”
“Wilfred is heading back to the US these days, right?”
“Yes.”
“You handle it.”
“How do you want me to handle it?”
Stanley glanced over nonchalantly, his eyes hostile.“What do you think?”
When Jensina woke up, she felt weak but not in too much pain.
Her palms and knees, which should have been swollen and hurting, barely bothered her anymore. They just looked bad.
Her tailbone, which had ached for two days, felt much better.
But she shouldn’t have been here.
Frowning, she was about to call the hotel front desk when she caught a faint scent of agarwood.
She felt a bit groggy.
Once she came to her senses, she grabbed a familiar ointment from the nightstand, checked out, and left.
Back home, the atmosphere was unusually harmonious.
It seemed like the weirdness from the past few days was all because she was a third wheel.
“Sina, you’re back,” Juanita smiled and greeted her.
Clearly, Coleman had cheered her up the night before.
Jensina wasn’t in the mood to deal with her.
Juanita took a few steps forward, tucked her hair behind her ear, and showed off a pair of dazzling pink diamond earrings.
It was a rare pink diamond.
It was a set of jewelry that Jensina had liked for a long time.
It had finally come back to auction. Coleman had promised to buy it for her, saying she looked best in light pink and it would look great on her. Perhaps he said the same thing when he gave it to Juanita.
Juanita didn’t miss the flicker of disappointment on Jensina’s face. She tilted her delicate chin up and said, “I heard from Eliza that you know a
