Chapter 48
Coleman finished dealing with those rich girls and slowly came back to his senses.
He had just walked out of the tea room when he saw Estella coming toward him.“What do you think of those girls today?” she asked.
“What do you mean?”
He asked even though he already knew.
Estella pretended to look serious, “Don’t play dumb. You’re my son. You think I don’t know how smart you are?”
Mesou
Coleman just wanted to brush it off and didn’t want to get into a fight with his mom.
But since things had come to this, he didn’t mind saying it out loud, “Mom, it’s better if you don’t get involved in my personal business.”
The tone was a bit cold.
But Estella had always doted on her youngest son, so she didn’t get mad. She just asked seriously, “If you don’t want me to get involved, what do you want to do?”
Coleman frowned a little.
He never thought about doing anything, just like he told Jensina, his wife would only be Jensina.
Even though that girl had been a bit too rebellious lately, it was, after all, because of him.
A little girl got a bit jealous and made a fuss, that was just human nature.
He didn’t say anything for a moment, but Estella read too much into it. She frowned and said sternly, “Don’t tell me you want Juanita to marry into the Hardwick family again? Both my sons marrying the same woman–won’t people laugh at the Hardwick family?!”
Thinking about this, she couldn’t even sleep well at night!
Coleman looked cool and calm.“What are you talking about? I had a wife. How could I get married a second time?”
Estella was surprised, but deep down she didn’t believe it, “You never thought about divorcing and marrying Juanita?”
“Of course not.”
Coleman nodded and said patiently, “Mom, I knew better than anyone what I should do.”
“Don’t set up things like this again in the future, and don’t talk to Jensina about it in private.”
“But…”
Estella thought of something and felt a bit uneasy, but she still nodded.“I got it.”
Coleman quickly noticed something was wrong and said, “Are you still hiding something from me?”
“No.”
Estella flatly denied it.
But deep down, I had already made up my mind, the second young lady of the Hardwick family had to be replaced.
Ever since she asked for so much, she didn’t respect Jensina at all.
A woman who only cared about money not only couldn’t help her own son, but was likely to hold him back.
Jensina didn’t lean hard against the wall and let out a long breath until Wilfred walked away.
The string in her mind loosened, and only then did she realize her palm was bleeding from where she’d dug her nails in.
Every time I saw Wilfred, all those awful memories just jumped out like a nightmare…
She couldn’t help the fear.

She took a while to calm down. Not until she was chilled to the bone did she smooth out her perfectly neat dress and walk back into the hall.
She didn’t forget what she came to do today.
Estella seemed to have expected it. As soon as the servant saw her come back, he took her to the study on the second floor.
Estella was already inside, pouring tea and glancing at her.“Where did you go? Your legs are all purple from the cold.”
The hall felt a bit stuffy.”
Jensina said calmly, “I went to the backyard to get some air.”
Estella put a teacup in front of her, “Try it.”
“It smelled really good.”
Stanley liked tea, and Jensina followed him. She had tried all kinds of good tea since she was little. She took a small sip, “Mrs. Hardwick, where’s the divorce certificate?”
Since things had already fallen apart, Jensina didn’t want to beat around the bush.
Estella paused for a moment and put down her teacup, “I was going to give it to you today, but then I thought it’d be safer to wait.”
“What did you mean?”
Jensina didn’t get it.
What she did today was just to make the Hardwick family distance themselves from her.
Why didn’t you want to now?
Estella smiled and said, “What if after I give you the divorce certificate, you refuse to keep the divorce a secret? What am I supposed to do then?”
Jensina looked at her and said, “Before, I only promised to keep it a secret for now. You just needed to find the right person.”
Whether Coleman wanted to or not, that factor was way too uncertain.
