Pregnant with Tycoon's Ex Kneels novel Chapter 7

Chapter 7

Coleman winced at the sound of her unadorned voice.

Why do you want to get rid of it now? You always cherished this wedding dress,he frowned.

Jensina didn’t argue.

For three years, she’d kept it in the closet, sending it for cleaning each year.

She’d thought it was a onceinalifetime keepsake, but now they were divorcing.

Maybe Coleman would marry his true love next.

The wedding dress, like her, felt out of place in this house.

Jensina smiled, I just noticed a big hole in it a few days ago.

You can’t just throw it away,Coleman said, seeing her forced smile and thinking she just couldn’t let go. I’ll get someone from the bridal shop to check it out and see if it can be fixed.

Forget it.Jensina shook her head, looking straight at him. Some things, once broken, can’t be fixed.

She wasn’t talking about the dress but their marriage.

Without waiting for his response, she turned and walked inside.

Noticing she was still limping, Coleman finally remembered and caught up to her.Hey, are you hurt? It’s been a few days. Why are you still limping?

It had been days, and he finally asked about her injury.

However, she needed his guilt.

Jensina hesitated and then admitted quietly, It was getting better, but I went back to the Herring’s mansion last night and knelt in the snow for

four hours.

What did you say?

Coleman was stunned. His eyes flicked to her swollen, red palms. What happened to your hands?

Jensina simply replied, I got hit.Her tone was flat, without a hint of complaint.

He frowned, Why did you kneel for so long, and still

He was afraid to think further.

Jensina was sort of like the Herring family’s adopted daughter.

How could she get hurt like this just by going back once?

Jensina looked up at him, and memories of how she used to dream of marrying him flashed through her mind.

She really had looked forward to growing old with Coleman.

She stayed silent for a while, pushed down the sadness in her heart, and finally, when he kept asking, she smiled, Because you didn’t go back

with me.

He pushed down the strange frustration inside, swallowed, and asked, You’re still laughing. Doesn’t it hurt?

It hurts. Jensina nodded. But I’m used to it.

You used to it?

Yeah Jensina gently squeezed her palm, her voice calm as if she were talking about someone else.As long as you don’t go back with me, I’ll always get punished.

Truthfully, it was more than just that.

Ever since she was little, if anything displeased Vanessa, she’d be punished.

There was a special pebblecovered spot just for her.

She’d only been with the Herring family for less than a year when, at six years old, she already knew how to kneel in a way that pleased

Vanessa.

Her knee, lower leg, and foot were all in a straight line, fitting perfectly with the stones.

Coleman halfsquatted and gently lifted her skirt. Her knees were badly swollen, with a large bruise.

Her calves were covered in bruises, standing out starkly against her fair skin.

It was far worse than Juanita’s slightly red knees from a few days ago.

Coleman was furious inside. He picked her up and placed her on the couch, frowning, Why didn’t you call me when you were punished?

In the early years, the Herring family and the Hardwick family were evenly matched..

But after Stanley took over the family business, he made big changes and became ruthless, causing the two families to drift apart.

Yet, Jensina was his wife. He couldn’t let others push her around.

Jensina’s eyes were clear as she asked, When you left, didn’t you say you had something urgent? I thought it must be really important, so I shouldn’t bother you.

Coleman choked.

For a moment, he wondered if stopping Juanita’s blind date was worth Jensina getting hurt like this.

When he hesitated, he looked up and saw her gentle, obedient face.

He felt suffocated. He took out the firstaid kit, applied some ointment, and gently asked, Why didn’t you tell me you got hurt before?

Jensina was silent.

She had always wanted to be a good daughterinlaw and thought Coleman would be a great partner.

To everyone, the Herring family was like her own family.

She wasn’t about to complain to her husband about how badly her family treated her.

She wasn’t that stupid, and she knew Coleman didn’t love her as much as she’d hoped.

She’d only recently realized he never loved her at all. But she’d never relied on his love to get by.

Her hands rested on her legs, picking at her fingertips. Softly, she said, I didn’t want you to feel caught between me and the Herring family.

She added, After all, the Hardwick Group still has to work with the Herring family.

It was a halftruth, but it was all she could say.

When Coleman heard this, he felt a lump in his throat and a deep sense of guilt.

He shouldn’t have used her understanding as an excuse to hurt her.

Coleman took a deep breath, pushed down the discomfort in his heart, and gently rubbed Jensina’s head. Sorry, I didn’t do well this time. I also forgot our wedding anniversary a few days ago. Is there anything you want, Sina? I’ll definitely give it to you.

He was always generous with material things, houses, cars, jewelry, and bags.

She hesitated for a moment and then softly said, Then I hope you’ll like the birthday present I gave you.

That simple?he asked.

Yes.She nodded gently.

When Jensina was twenty, her birthday wish was to marry Coleman.
