Juanita’s face froze.

Seeing the familiar car outside, she panicked.

She stared accusingly at Jensina.“You planned this, didn’t you?”

“Juanita, what are you talking about? I was just upstairs getting a gift for Cole. Why are you still blaming me…”

Jensina’s eyes were misty, as if she were feeling wronged.

Kenton Pugh, the Hardwick mansion’s butler, entered and saw the scene.

Frowning at the mess, he turned to Juanita.“Mrs. Juanita Hardwick, Madam Hardwick asked me to tell you. Since you can’t discipline Joshua, she’ll have to discipline you first.”

Juanita’s lips curled.“What?”

Kenton gestured for her to follow and said, “Please go to the yard and kneel for three hours.”

“Kenton…” Jensina began, but he kindly cut her off, “Mrs. Jensina Hardwick, no need to plead. You’ve done your part at Mr. Lyman’s funeral. Take care of yourself.”

She didn’t intend to plead for Juanita. Instead, she wanted to ask if Eliza Hardwick was feeling any better.

She wanted to pick a time and talk about the divorce.

Even though Coleman led the Hardwick Group, Eliza was the one who decided the family matters.

Juanita didn’t want to submit, but she had no choice but to kneel in the yard amidst the ice and snow. She deserved it.

Jensina didn’t give her another look and prepared to go upstairs.

Susana worried.“Mrs. Hardwick, what about the painting?”

“Don’t worry. Someone will collect it later and return it once it’s restored,” Jensina replied calmly.

She kept to herself that the one at home was a replica.

The real painting was safely displayed at her friend’s gallery, where it belonged.

Efren Hardwick would’ve wanted his work seen by more people, not just hidden away.

It was such a waste to just keep it at home.

“Bad woman!” Joshua shouted as Jensina was about to head upstairs. “I called Uncle Coleman. When he comes back, you’re in trouble!”

“I’ll wait,” Jensina said.

‘He’s going to divorce you! You’ll be a loose woman no one wants!” Joshua continued.

Jensina smiled, “He won’t listen to you.”

Coleman still needed her as a fig leaf with Juanita.

Once he divorced her, it would ruin Juanita’s reputation if he lived with Juanita. Coleman wouldn’t allow that.

Coleman returned swiftly.

Juanita had been kneeling for less than twenty minutes when he arrived.

Tall and commanding in his black cashmere coat, he exuded an air of nobility.

He rushed from the car to Juanita, scooped her up, and carried her into the house, placing her on the couch.

As he applied medicine to her cold, red knees, the concern in his eyes was palpable.“Are you daft? They asked you to kneel, and you just did it,”

“Eliza insisted. What could I do?” Juanita said, tugging at his sleeve, her eyes welling up, her voice trembling.“Cole, can you divorce her? She’s

terrifying…”

Coleman’s brow furrowed.“You mean Jensina?” he asked.

“Yes.” Juanita bit her lip.“Do you know why Josh broke Efren’s last painting? She deliberately led him to do it.”

“Mom was right!” Joshua added, pouting with tears in his eyes. “Uncle Coleman, Auntie Jensina scared me on purpose today. She said the monster that would eat my arm was in that painting, so I…”

“No way,” Coleman dismissed the idea. Then he affectionately patted Joshua’s head. “Josh, maybe you misunderstood. Jensina has the kindest heart in our family. She said last night she wasn’t upset with you, so she wouldn’t frighten you again.”

*Plus, Grandpa adored her. She wouldn’t harm his paintings,” Coleman added, looking at Juanita.

Juanita was incredulous. “You’re saying Josh and I falsely accused her?”

“Coleman!” she exclaimed.“You’ve changed so much!”

This accusation stirred a flash of anger in Coleman, but seeing the disappointment in her eyes, he held back.“Juanita, I’ve always been the

same.”

Juanita stared at him.“You swear you never had any feelings for Jensina, that you never slept with her?”

Coleman always felt he had never let Juanita down.

Yet, he heard the question but couldn’t bring himself to answer.

His posture stiffened, and his long lashes cast shadows.“I never touched her.”

Coleman owed Jensina an apology.

“I didn’t sleep with her for once.”

Jensina descended the stairs, one hand on her back and the other holding a gift box, catching these words.

It was a simple statement.

She gave a wry smile and approached.“Cole, there’s a family dinner at the Herring’s villa tomorrow night. Grandma asked if you could come

back.”

Vanessa Huber and Jensina’s parents were old friends.

After their accident, Jensina was raised by Vanessa.

To others, she was practically part of the Herring family.

Even after she married into the Hardwick family, the business ties between the Herring family and the Hardwick family continued.

Hearing this, Coleman, likely feeling guilty, agreed immediately, “Sure, I’ll pick you up tomorrow night. We’ll go together.”

“Okay.” Jensina glanced at the gift box and then at Juanita and Joshua beside him. She wisely said no more and turned to leave.
