Chapter 31
Pa–da-
That shout instantly caught a lot of people’s attention.

The phone with a cracked screen, the shocking red marks on the pale back of the hand, and Jensina’s eyes turning red at just the right moment. Anyone with eyes could tell he was badly bullied.
So pitiful.
Coleman came over with a frown and picked up her phone for her, “What happened?”
Juanita wanted to go after Jensina, but she realized she didn’t even know where to start.
Said Jensina stood up for her, but she didn’t appreciate it, so she hit Jensina?
I could only glare at those two girls, “They talked bad about me behind my back, said really nasty things!”
Those two just wished they could disappear right there.
Who would’ve thought Coleman’s two women were both so tough to deal with, one even more than the other!
Especially Jensina.
Looked like someone you could push around and bully easily, but was actually a rabbit that would bite you hard, skin and all, as soon as it opened its mouth!
I wouldn’t mess with her again, no matter who I messed with before!
Jensina took the phone, looked at Juanita, and repeated what she just said in a gentle and thoughtful way:
“Juanita, maybe just forget it. Maybe I misunderstood, they were probably just joking around. Today was Fredric’s birthday party, so let’s not make a scene.”
The one who got her phone smashed and got slapped was her, but she was the one who tried to comfort the person who started it all.
The words she just said were thrown back at her even harder. Juanita felt like she had a mouthful of old blood stuck in her throat–she couldn’t spit it out or swallow it!
She was furious, but with so many people watching, if she kept making a scene, her reputation would only get worse.
She dug her nails into her palm so hard it hurt, but she still smiled and said, “You’re right, we won’t bother with people who can’t keep their mouths shut.”
There was no emotion on Coleman’s face, “Apologize.”
The two of them immediately acted like they’d been pardoned, bowed and said, “Sorry,
Juanita put on a generous look again and said, “Forget it, forget it…”
“I said you.”
Coleman cut her off and looked at Jensina’s red hand.“Say sorry to Sina.”
Juanita’s eyes almost popped out.
My…”
She looked really uneasy and checked with Coleman in disbelief, “What did you say?”
Coleman frowned and moved her behind him, like he was worried Jensina might do something to give her a taste of her own medicine again.
“Sina, Juanita had a bad temper, I apologized to you for her…”
She was hit by someone.

Her so–called husband apologized to her for someone else in front of so many people.
Who was close and who was distant, anyone with eyes could see.
Jensina’s clear eyes just looked at him for a while, then the corners of her mouth curled into a mocking smile, “It’s fine.”
As she spoke, she stuffed her phone into her bag, took out a velvet box, and walked up to Fredric. The smile on her face looked a bit more genuine: Fredric, happy birthday!”
“Something urgent came up at the clinic, so Gerty and I left first.”
As she finished speaking, she pulled Gertrude away.
Coleman watched her disappear at the door, and his chest felt kind of empty.
That smile she just had…
Something was off.
It seemed like I was totally disappointed in him.
Thinking of this, Coleman started to catch up. Juanita suddenly twisted her ankle and grabbed his arm, “Hiss, Coleman, help me…”
Coleman paused for a moment, his eyes glancing at the clover pendant that slipped out from Juanita’s collar as she moved. For a second, he looked a bit dazed, as if something crossed his mind.
After sitting down on the couch, Juanita looked at him, “What’s wrong?”
“Didn’t.”
“Worried Jensina got mad?”
Juanita held back her feelings and said softly, “Didn’t you say she was well–behaved and sensible? How could she get mad over something like
this?”
It was, too.
Coleman thought back to what just happened. The little girl’s eyes weren’t even red.
It should’ve been fine.
Out of the private room, Gertrude quickly grabbed Jensina’s hand and checked it.“Does it hurt?”
“Not bad.”
Not as strong as the Herring family servants.
After all these years, she’d grown tough and could handle pain better than most people.
Gertrude still wasn’t at ease, “Later go buy some medicine at the pharmacy and put it on. You could’ve dodged her slap, why did you let her hit you…”
‘It worked even better after getting hit.”
Jensina spoke softly.
Off to the side, Gertrude rarely couldn’t find anything to say.
She thought she knew Jensina well enough, but what happened today left her with a strange feeling she couldn’t quite describe.
She knew Jensina’s true colors too well.
Pure, kind, and tough..
Jensina, always acted really positive in front of her, like a little sun.
Seeing she didn’t say anything, Jensina squeezed her palm, “Do you… think I was too calculating?”
“Are you stupid or something?”

Gertrude couldn’t help but glare at her, but tears rolled down from the corners of her eyes. After wiping them away, she rubbed her head hard and said, “I just feel sorry for you, okay!!”
She couldn’t imagine what Jensina had been through to make her so careful about figuring people out.
Before, because her family wasn’t good, Jensina always took care of her.
But it was obvious.
She was the one who actually had a hard time.
Jensina felt relieved and smiled. “What’s there to feel sorry for me about? It’s all in the past.”
Now, it was already millions of times better than before.
“What did you want to eat? My treat.”
“Um…”
Gertrude thought for a moment, hugged her arm, and said, “Let’s go to the supermarket to buy some groceries and have hotpot at home, okay?”
“Okay.”
This winter was especially cold.
It was perfect for hotpot.
When the white Audi drove out of the parking lot, a shiny black Bentley was just coming in through the entrance.
The two cars almost brushed past each other.
Enrique thought the license plate looked familiar and felt a bit confused: “Isn’t this the car of Miss’s best friend? It looks like there’s someone in the passenger seat too. The birthday party hasn’t started yet, has it? Miss already left?”
“What did you say?”
Stanley looked up slightly while handling work on his tablet.
Zackary glanced at the rearview mirror and said, “He said the lady already left. How is that possible? Coleman’s car is still there. The lady must have come with Coleman today.”
Wait…
Why did he feel like Stanley’s eyes were a bit too sharp?
He didn’t say anything wrong, did he?
Wasn’t it normal for couples to be together?
