Chapter 12

Jensina hit Juanita right on the forehead.

Blood gushed out faster than Jensina’s fall this morning.

Coleman was shocked, and his body reacted even faster than his brain!

He pushed Jensina away, his voice cold.“What’s going on? Jensina, were you just pretending to be nice?”

Jensina collapsed and stared blankly at his questioning.

It was all an act.

This time, she didn’t want to pretend.

Coleman didn’t expect she would be hurt so badly that she couldn’t even handle this much force, and he was a bit stunned.

Juanita held her forehead and said with a sob,“Cole! It hurts so much. I’m bleeding a lot…”

He ignored Jensina, lifting Juanita and leaving.

Before he left, he glanced back, feeling a pang in his heart.

The girl who once wanted to marry him stared at him with lifeless eyes, as if looking at a stranger.

The IV needle was yanked out roughly.

Blood dripped from Jensina’s hand, but she didn’t care.

She just reached out to hold the edge of the bed, forced herself to stand up through the pain, her thin body about to fall over. Her knuckles turned white from gripping so hard, but she never thought about letting go.

Gertrude found her like this.

Gertrude got startled, went over to press down on her hand, and held her up.“What happened? You’re bleeding so much and didn’t even call a nurse. What are you thinking?”

What was she thinking?

Jensina pulled the corner of her lips.

She thought it was not worth it.

Her feelings for him over the past three years weren’t worth it.

Gertrude frowned and helped Jensina onto the bed. “What happened? Susana called me and said you were pushed down the stairs?”

Jensina gathered her thoughts and gently pressed her lips together.“Yeah, but I already got revenge for myself.”

Gertrude was shocked.“Huh?”

“I smashed Juanita’s head.” Jensina pointed at the broken IV bottle on the ground and admitted honestly, “That was the tool I used.”

Gertrude pretended not to hear, cleaned the IV bottle, and threw it away.“What tool are you talking about? It’s just a broken bottle, no big deal.”

Jensina couldn’t help but laugh. Her lips were pale.“If I killed someone, would you still help me get rid of the weapon this calmly?”

“No.” Gertrude thought about it seriously.“I guess I’d deal with the body first.”

Words failed Jensina.

Gertrude sounded pretty professional.

However, what Gertrude was worried about didn’t happen.

For several days, no cops showed up in the hospital room. Juanita actually didn’t call the cops.

Eduardo visited Jensina at the hospital and gave her the special treatment whenever he had time.

After checking up on her, the doctor remarked with surprise, “You’re healing quickly. Considering the bad fall you had, you’re almost fully

recovered.

“You can be discharged from the hospital in a couple of days, but it takes a few months for bones and tendons to heal, so no heavy workouts for

now.”

Jensina said, “Doctor, I want to leave the hospital tomorrow.”

“Tomorrow?”

“Yeah, I have something important to do tomorrow.”

She studied medicine with Pierre for over a decade. Pierre and Shanna treated her well.

She didn’t want to break her promise to Pierre.

“Okay.” After the doctor checked her forehead wound and removed the stitches, she said, “Good thing your hairline can cover it, or you’d have a

scar.”

Only a female doctor would care about that for a patient.

Jensina smiled, “A scar is fine.”

First, she didn’t really mind.

Second, she was good at fading scars.

“That won’t work.” The doctor raised her voice.“You have such a pretty face. It’ll be a shame to have a scar.”

“That’s right.” The nurse next to her smiled and said, “By the way, your medical record says you’re married. I haven’t seen your husband around. He is so inconsiderate.”

Jensina smiled lightly, “He is busy.”

He was a considerate guy.

He was busy taking care of his loved one.

A couple of days ago, Gertrude brought her some afternoon tea. As soon as she entered, she scolded Coleman for a long time.

There was no other reason.

She bumped into Coleman in the VIP room, and he was looking after Juanita very carefully.

The next morning, Jensina smoothly completed her discharge.

Eduardo was concerned about her health, so he sent a message to check in. “Sina, should I come to the hospital to get you?”

“Eduardo, don’t bother. Gertrude is going to take me to the airport.” Jensina replied to the messages as she got into the elevator.

As she entered the underground parking lot, she heard a familiar voice from the stairwell. It was Coleman on the phone.

“Y said I didn’t know her well enough? I really didn’t expect her to hurt Juanita.”

She wasn’t sure what Coleman’s friend said on the phone. Coleman, looking troubled, explained, “I never wanted her to be the one to suffer, and I could never divorce her.”

His friend suddenly raised his voice.“Damn, that’s rare. Sina beat your beloved up, and you’ve never thought about leaving her?”

There was a brief silence, and he laughed, “You don’t have feelings for Sina, do you?”

“Stop talking nonsense.” Coleman paused, as if carefully picking his words. “If we divorce now, all the gossip will hurt Juanita. Plus, there was a scandal, not long ago. If we divorce, my family won’t let her go.”

His words, a mix of compromise and indirect problem–solving, made Jensina smile quietly to herself.

She always understood the reason.
