Gertrude was puzzled. “Why? If he gets divorced now, it will still affect the Hardwick Group.”

As long as the CEO of a listed company got divorced, people would start guessing about things like changes in shareholding and all sorts of possibilities.

The stock price was definitely going to fluctuate.

Jensina curved her lips. “You’ll know when the time comes.”

“Okay, as long as you have a plan, I’m relieved. If things go bad with Coleman, I can step in for you,” Gertrude said.

Jensina shook her head with a faint smile. “Don’t worry. Coleman isn’t that shameless.”

If the scandal hadn’t gone viral, she might have been more passive.

But now, she was in control.

Coleman would even divorce to save Juanita’s reputation.

It wouldn’t get to the point of falling out.

Gertrude was in a hurry to meet a client. After giving a few simple instructions, she was about to drive off.

Before leaving, she remembered something, took a gift from the passenger seat, and handed it to Jensina.“Sina, Merry Christmas! I’m leaving first!”

Jensina smiled, “Okay, Merry Christmas. Stay safe!”

She didn’t turn to go home with the gift in her arms until Gertrude’s car disappeared from sight.

Susana just finished making dinner.“Mrs. Hardwick, dinner’s ready.”

“Okay,” Jensina replied, and then bumped into Juanita guiding Joshua downstairs.

They were both dressed up in a Christmas style, and their posture was just as arrogant. When they looked at her, it was like they were looking at a loser.

Joshua shook off Juanita’s hand, jumped down a few steps, and lifted his chin at Jensina. “Uncle Coleman came to pick me and Mom up for dinner. You have to stay home by yourself! Loser!”

As soon as he finished, he glanced outside and was surprised.

He grabbed Juanita, trying to leave quickly.“Mom, hurry up! Uncle Coleman is here to pick us up!”

“Sorry, Sina,” Juanita apologized, acting like the lady of the house.“Josh wanted Cole to spend Christmas with him, so you had to be alone. Don’t be mad.”

“It’s fine,” Jensina replied with a smile. “When I was a kid, a fortune teller said I’d live long, with lots of holidays ahead.”

With that, she just walked away.

Juanita paused and then realized what was going on.

She thought, “What did this bitch mean?

“Did she imply that I wouldn’t live long?

“Did she mean I wouldn’t have another holiday after this?”

Furious, Juanita wanted to argue, but Coleman was already there, looking their way.

Juanita.held back her anger, smiled, and went out.“Cole, let’s go.”

Coleman didn’t react for a long time.

Juanita paused, noticing Coleman was distracted.

He wasn’t watching her.

Her nails dug into her palms as she spoke sharply, “Cole, are you even into her?”

Coleman pulled himself together and frowned a little, “What?”

Juanita took a deep breath.“You were staring at her just now!”

“Was I?” Coleman frowned a little.

Juanita felt Cole was acting differently.

Once, he’d take her words seriously.

Sometimes at family dinners, even if she just casually mentioned that he and Jensina had a really good relationship, he would immediately keep his distance from Jensina.

But now, he just took it for granted.

Juanita was pretty unhappy.“No? I just called you, and you didn’t even respond.”

“I was just thinking about work stuff,” Coleman explained.

Juanita finally let out a sigh of relief and poked his waist.“You better not fall for her. Don’t forget the promise you made when you were a kid!”

“Don’t worry,” he said softly when it came up.“I’ll always remember.”

Jensina didn’t think much about their holiday together.

After dinner, she squatted in the yard and made herself a Santa Claus. Her hands were red from the cold before she went back to her room for a

bath.

Probably Susana saw that it was snowing again, so she turned the heat up a bit too high.

Jensina didn’t even want to bother drying her hair.

She leaned against the head of the bed reading, and after a while, she curled up and fell asleep.

The next day, Jensina woke up scared.

She wasn’t sure where the noise came from, but it was loud.

It was probably Joshua causing trouble again.

Just as she got to the stairs, Joshua suddenly showed up from nowhere, hands on his hips, glaring at her. “Bad woman! Go to hell!”

Jensina frowned, but before she could say anything, Joshua rushed at her!

This time, she dodged quickly, but it felt like something yanked hard on her lower back.

She lost her balance and rolled down the stairs.

Jensina hit the stone steps hard, blood streaming down her face.

She lay there, in pain, and saw Juanita on the stairs, smirking, “I’m not leaving, so stop dreaming.”

The person who pulled her from behind was Juanita.

Susana heard the commotion and rushed over, terrified. Jensina, with her last strength, told Susana, “Call an ambulance.”

“Okay, okay!” Susana fumbled to call 911.

By the time she gave the address, Jensina had passed out.

It hurt.
