Pregnant with Tycoon's Ex Kneels novel Chapter 13

Chapter 13

Jensina walked towards the boarding gate and spotted Eduardo right away.

Clad in a casual yet sharp outfit, his tall, lean figure exuded a quiet confidence, his handsome features undeniable.

He, too, was looking for Jensina, and their eyes locked the moment they saw each other.

Even after all these years, seeing Jensina without any makeup still left him awestruck. He quickly walked up to her and took her bag from her shoulder.

As he looked her over, his professional instincts kicked in. Haven’t slept well these past few days, have you?he remarked.

Just a little,she replied.

A few days ago, a lady had been admitted to the ward after a fall.

She was extremely kind, but her snoring was loud.

When Jensina boarded the plane, she was surprised to find her seat had been upgraded to first class.

Eduardo noticed her confusion and raised an eyebrow, saying, I thought you might appreciate a good rest. After all, this is a business trip on my dime. At least let me make sure you’re wellrested.

He handed her a calming pouch.

Jensina took it, smiling playfully.Do you think Pierre will reimburse you for this?she teased.

Don’t worry. I can afford it,Eduardo replied with a grin.

Wellthank you, Eduardo. She didn’t indulge in unnecessary pleasantries.

To be fair, Eduardo wasn’t hurting for money. His family owned a prominent pharmaceutical group, and his clinic was more of a personal hobby.

Jensina never expected that the traditional medicine they developed together would bring such fame to his clinic, with patients constantly flooding in.

Their flight landed in Los Angeles, where the sun was shining brightly.

The Traditional Medicine Research Institute had sent someone to pick them up and take them to their hotel.

Eduardo escorted Jensina to her room and paused when he noticed her bare ring finger. Isn’t this your favorite wedding ring? Why aren’t you wearing it this time?

I dumped it,she replied with a shrug. I’m getting a divorce.

Eduardo blinked in surprise, then raised an eyebrow, a smile dancing in his eyes. Looks like Pierre was right, huh? Coleman never deserved

you.

Jensina saw the amusement in his eyes and asked, Am I to understand you’re enjoying this?

I’m not enjoying it. I’m just happy for you,he said, chuckling.

He helped her carry her luggage into the room. Get some rest. I’ll pick you up for dinner tonight.

Okay.

After a quick shower, Jensina rummaged through her bag and powered up her phone.

Messages began popping upone from Coleman in particular stood out.

He said, Sina, something came up. I won’t be able to join you when you’re discharged.

Don’t worry, I’ll definitely be back tonight to open the gifts with you.

A sarcastic smile tugged at Jensina’s lips.

She thought, Is it he who had something to do, or is it Juanita?

She couldn’t be bothered to reply, so she opened Gertrude’s conversation instead, letting her know she was safe.

Seeing she had some free time and had already caught up on sleep during the flight, Jensina decided to go for a walk.

Gertrude, busy in a meeting when the message arrived, didn’t respond immediately.

After finishing her work, she called, cutting straight to the point.Has Coleman seen the divorce papers yet? Did he give you a definite answer?

By this time, it was already the middle of the night in America.

If Coleman hadn’t broken his promise again, he should have opened the gifts by now and seen the divorce papers.

Perhaps he had already grown accustomed to the idea that she would obediently wait for him night after night in that empty mansion.

Jensina didn’t care to guess.

Standing under the towering sculptures in Berlin Cathedral, she answered casually, I don’t know. I haven’t heard from him yet.

Her tone was simple and direct.

Gertrude, who was growing anxious, shot back, Aren’t you even a little bit worried?

No matter what happens, the result won’t change,Jensina replied in a calm, almost detached voice. Why should I worry?

Fine,Gertrude said, understanding that Jensina wasn’t the type to panic. If only all my clients could be as calm as you, I’d have a lot less to stress about.

That’s not going to happen,Jensina joked.A part of my salary is for dealing with the mental toll.

After she left Berlin Cathedral, the sky had begun to darken.

Jensina glanced at the time and grabbed a cab back to the hotel. But she unexpectedly bumped into Eduardo again in the elevator.

Together, they headed to the restaurant the representative had booked for them for a welcoming dinner.

Pierre, a highly respected figure in traditional medicine, was the one behind the dinner arrangements, so it was no surprise that everything was well taken care of.

The representative from the Institute was an American and warmly greeted them. Mr. Faulkner, Ms. Warren, thank you for coming all the way. Please, have a seat, the representative said.

Eduardo, a master of social interactions, smoothly took charge of the evening. Jensina didn’t need to do much except enjoy the meal.

Occasionally, Eduardo would notice dishes that suited her taste and would serve her.

For instance, vegan cheese -a dish Coleman never touched, so the Hardwick family never had it on their table.

But Jensina liked it.

She glanced at Eduardo, her eyes softening in gratitude. He understood, and with a gentle pat on her head, he said, Eat while it’s hot. Pierre insisted that I take care of you.

Meanwhile, the door to the opposite private room opened.

A man in his late forties stepped out, flanked by several welldressed subordinates. His aura screamed successa highranking corporate

executive.

He stepped aside, smiling broadly, and spoke in fluent German, Mr. Herring, the deal is done. I’ll bring the contract to the hotel tomorrow for signing.

Great.A younger man emerged behind him, with a detached attitude, dressed in a bespoke black shirt and pants, a jacket casually draped over his arm. His sharp features exuded an aura of effortless authority.

His assistant, noticing the young man’s brief pause, turned to him and said, Boss, the CEO of Tolbis Bio is waiting for us at the hotel.

The foreign man immediately sensed the situation and offered, Let me walk you out.

As they passed by, the young man’s eyes casually scanned the room.

Jensina, in a soft pink knitted top and wellfitted jeans, smiled at the man who patted her head, her expression full of contentment.

She was being so obedient.

The assistant, noticing the man’s pause, followed his gaze. Boss, why is Mr. Warren here in Germany?

Mery

He paused, then turned to Stanley, a puzzled look on her face.Who is this man? Has she divorced Coleman and moved on to someone new

Just then, a waiter opened the door and blocked their view.

Stanley, irritated by the question, loosened his tie, his voice low as he said, Am I supposed to be a fortune teller?

Jensina adjusted to the bed without any trouble. She didn’t even need to deal with jet lag. She woke up on her own, well before the alarm could
