Alfred let out a breath of relief. When he took his phone out, he saw that Blake had been calling his number. At that, his expression turned into one of mocking, and he had no intention of dealing with anyone from the Liddell family at that moment.
However, he received a message from Blake and frowned. "We might need to decide on what to do next right away."
Eugene looked over and asked, "What is it? Is it news from the Liddells?"
"Yeah, Blake messaged me saying that Carl just invited all of the brothers for dinner to discuss how to deal with us. Given Carl's personality, he's definitely been making moves for the past few days. We need to prepare in advance."
"I thought about that as well, so I had someone keep an eye on the military warlords who are close to Carl. I haven't received any news from that side so far, though. Just what is Carl planning to do if he isn't asking the military warlords for help in dealing with us?"
Alfred replied, "Exactly. That's what's been troubling me. There's no way he can escape the island by himself. He definitely knows that, too."
But even so, Carl was not going to release Noelle that easily.
Eugene frowned and said, "I think we might've overlooked something. Didn't Noelle fall ill before this? If Carl was the one who treated her, could she have already forgotten everything? That would include us, and of course, Cedric."
Alfred immediately felt a headache coming on. "Right, I completely forgot about that. If Noelle really has lost all of her memories, it would be disastrous if Carl feeds her lies about us."
It would be downright catastrophic.
Both Eugene and Alfred looked at each other helplessly. The latter then sent a reply to Blake, asking him to report back immediately about any and all decisions that Carl had made.
Having an ally among the Liddells for inside information was much better than fighting them head-on from the outside after all.
Alfred put down his phone and glanced at Cedric, who was lying inside the room. He really had no idea how to break the news to Cedric.
