Frank smiled bitterly. "Do you really think we can talk Carl out of it? If we could, we wouldn't be sitting here racking our brains on how to deal with him."
Blake spoke up. "I'll tell Alfred about this. I'll just send him a message if he doesn't pick up my calls. I believe he'll take precautions once he sees it."
He tried calling Alfred, but the call was not answered, just as expected. He then sent Alfred a message explaining the current situation, hoping that the other would take the necessary steps to guard against it in advance.
Meanwhile, on the other end, Alfred had no time to answer any calls as his men had finally found Cedric, who was no longer near the island, as the ocean currents had carried him elsewhere. He was rescued by a fisherman who had gone out to sea that night.
Cedric was certainly lucky to be alive. He was saved and brought ashore just in time. Any longer, and he would not have been able to survive the ordeal.
Alfred rushed to the only hospital in the area as soon as he could and saw that the facilities were extremely barebones.
At the hospital, Cedric lay unconscious on a hospital bed.
The doctor in charge said, "He passed out in the middle of the sea. We've already performed an emergency rescue on him.
"Whether he wakes up or not will depend on his own luck. We've done all we can given our limited capabilities."
Alfred then immediately arranged for Cedric to be discharged and then brought him aboard the yacht, which was fitted with a treatment room for Noelle, but it was now coming in handy for Cedric as well.
The doctors they had brought along naturally had far superior medical skills than the local ones.
After a thorough examination, the doctor came out and said, "Mr. Greene almost drowned. It is truly fortunate that he was rescued in time. The local hospital already performed an emergency rescue, so there aren't any major issues right now."
