Carl calmly smoothed his shirt. "I am insane, but I'll prove I'm right in the end."
In his rage, Blake started smashing everything in the lab. Then, he pulled out a lighter, flicked it on, and lit the lab ablaze.
"Have you lost your mind?" Carl's eyes went wide.
"Well, yes. Since you love this little island so much, I'll just ruin this place." He kept throwing beakers and overturning tables, and no one could stop him.
Carl glanced at Emery, who stepped forward and jabbed a dose of sedative into Blake's neck.
Frank swiftly stepped forward to catch the latter before he collapsed to the ground and turned to glare at Carl. "What did you do to him?"
"It's just a sedative. He won't die. Now he comes yelling at me like he's innocent when he stood by us the whole time. It's too late even if he regrets it now."
At this point, he wasn't going to back down.
Frank stared at the coldness that radiated off Carl and felt like he was looking at a stranger. Then, he drew a sharp breath and asked in a tight voice, "If Cedric doesn't bring Noelle back, will she survive?"
"As long as I'm here, she's safe."
But Frank didn't believe a word of it, knowing Carl never told them the truth. Noelle would die if her treatment came too late, and Carl was fine using her life as bait to threaten Cedric.
She was their sister, and they were holding her life over another man's head like a bargaining chip. It was almost laughable now that he thought about it.
For the first time, he realized how unfit they were as her brothers, and what right did they have to threaten Cedric?
He helped Blake back to his room and settled him onto a couch when Donovan approached. "What happened to Blake?"
