No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 1475

The yacht reached the port at top speed. Cedric carried Noelle ashore and headed straight for the waiting boat, where a team of doctors was standing by.

He set her down and muttered, "Do whatever it takes to save her."

The doctors closed in on Noelle, who was lying on the makeshift bed, completely still, while Cedric sat outside with trembling hands.

Carl had outplayed him again.

Eugene emerged from the water and looked at Cedric grimly. "Carl's more cunning than I thought. No one would have seen that drug switch coming."

"I've let my guard down," Cedric said, his muffled voice coming from his face buried into his hands.

"That's not your fault. Carl probably suspected it was you when he didn't see Aaron show up; he's not a fool, either.

"Right now, all that matters is that we save Noelle. Everything else isn't important."

Cedric had a grave expression as he vowed. "I'll kill Carl. I swear I'll bury him with my own hands."

He'd make Carl pay for what the latter had done to Noelle. As the seconds ticked by, every minute felt like a year to Cedric before he suddenly received a call from Blake.

After glancing at the screen, he picked up the call. "Are you calling to apologize now?"

"I-I just need to know how Noelle's doing. Is she okay?"

"Do you even care if she's okay? If you do, how could you have allowed her to get dragged into this mess, and why didn't you stop Carl? You're as guilty as he is!"

On the other end, Blake was silent after hearing the words and could barely respond in guilt.

At last, he forced out the words. "If her life's at stake, I'll make Carl hand over the drug."

"If you have even a shred of conscience left and ever thought of her as your sister, get me the drug." With that, Cedric hung up.
