Blake glared at Carl and snapped, "What are you planning now?"

The latter let out a laugh and replied, "You'll see soon enough."

Donovan sighed. "There's nothing we can do, and we're stuck. It's clear Cedric knew Noelle was here the whole time. He planned to take her away and get back at us."

"He's been pulling our strings from the start, and we're powerless now," Wyatt chimed in.

Noelle had just tried to kill them, and they'd likely be dead right now if they hadn't been wearing bulletproof vests. With so much hatred between them, there was no reason to keep trying.

Blake turned back to Carl. "Well, spit it out. What trick do you have left?"

Carl just said, "Keep waiting, and you'll find out soon enough."

"There's something wrong with the drug, isn't it?" Frank looked up sharply.

Carl let out a cold laugh without replying to the question, so Blake lunged forward and grabbed him by the collar. "What have you done to that drug? Will something happen to Noelle if she takes it?"

"Nothing bad, but Cedric will surely come begging me for help," Carl evenly said. "I knew something was off the moment I saw them, which was why I had the drug switched at the last minute."

"How could you tell?"

"Based on my understanding of Aaron, he wouldn't act this way. And the fact that he wouldn't show himself told me something was wrong.

"Since it isn't Aaron, it had to be Cedric. So yes, he'll come begging." Carl finished with a cold laugh.

"Begging? For Noelle's life? Have you lost your damn mind?" Blake exploded.

"You're right," Carl said, looking up. "I've been insane since my past life, and no one can stop me from doing what I want."
