Carl was outraged, but there was nothing he could do about it. The rest of his brothers were already there, and he could not exactly order his men to open fire at the helicopter to stop them from landing.
He would have done so if it had been anyone else.
Carl could not bring himself to face the rest of his brothers. He turned to Emery and said, "Come with me."
He then left the room with Emery.
Frank turned to Wyatt and asked, "What do you think we should do now? If Aaron really wants Carl to give the island back, Carl's definitely not going to agree to it."
Wyatt gave a bitter smile. "Noelle's right all along. We're all really selfish people, despite always saying that we're doing what's good for her.
"We'd always choose to abandon her to save our own skin when the time comes. I thought that Carl would be different, but now I realized that we're all the same."
The Liddells were all selfish people—all of them. Frank could not say anything in response for a very long time, and Blake and Donovan soon arrived at the scene.
Blake had been on the island before, so he was already familiar with the place.
He ran up to Frank and Wyatt and anxiously asked, "Is there any news about Noelle yet? What is Carl planning to do next?"
Frank hesitated for a moment before he spoke.
"Carl said that he'll send out his men to look for her, but his former manager, Aaron, has already reached out to us, saying that he wanted to have a word with Carl. I believe Aaron wants the island back, but from what I can tell, Carl isn't going to agree to it."
Blake was in disbelief. "What gives Carl the right to disagree with it? Noelle wouldn't have ended up in danger like this if he had never brought her here in the first place!
