Ill Fated Love novel Chapter 20

It was already late at night since Miles came back from Grandpa Wilson's place. His home was empty, and the huge house did not have a trace of people, making him feel bored.

Grandpa Wilson did not believe that Alice was still alive. Miles lay on the sofa, his black eyes silently staring at the ceiling.

Alice's life was so hard. At that time, she had also given birth to a child that was injured. How could she die?

Child!

Yeah, the kid!

Miles suddenly had a strong impulse to see the child.

In less than ten minutes, a black car drove out of the underground garage of the Miles and sped towards the Caroline's house.

Caroline was discovered and humiliated by Miles last night. She turned around to vent her anger on the child.

Alice was already dead. The child she had taken out was left unattended in the hospital; because the doctor said that he was not Miles' child.

She was afraid that things would be exposed, so she ordered someone to steal the child back and planned to get rid of the kid.

She put the two children in the nurse's room downstairs, but the children had been crying, making her very anxious. She put on her slippers, slapped them, and covered their mouths with the rag.

At this moment, her doorbell rang.

Caroline opened the door and saw that it was Miles. Her face was filled with ecstasy. She hurriedly opened the door and let Miles in. She smiled sweetly and said, "Miles, you came to see me. I'm sorry, I love you too much. I won't do it next time."

Seeing Caroline's pitiful look, Miles sighed in his heart, and his face relaxed a little.

In the end, it was all a mishap, so what was wrong with Caroline?

Thinking of this, he raised his hand to stop Caroline from pouring water for him, and said in a gentle tone, "Don't worry, I come to see the child."

Caroline's heart sank. The child was still tied up in the nanny's room with mouth shut. Seeing that Miles was going inside, she hurriedly stopped him.

"Child... the child is probably asleep. Sit down for a while and I'll carry him out."

Her eyes flickered and her tone was anxious. Miles felt suspicious and strode upstairs.

"It's fine. I'll take a look. I won't wake him up."

He assumed that the child was in Caroline's bedroom bed, but he didn't expect that the child was tied up by Caroline and thrown into the nanny's room.

While Miles was walking upstairs, Caroline hurriedly ran to the babysitter's room to undo the quilt of one of the children, pulled away the cloth blocking him, and quickly ran upstairs to meet Miles who happened to be coming out of her bedroom.

"I have a cold these days, so I put him in the room next door for fear of contagion." Caroline pointed at the side bedroom next door and said without blushing.

Miles took the crying child in her arms and furrowed his brows.

"Why is the child so cold?" He asked Caroline.

"I... I was afraid that the child wouldn't sleep properly at night, so I added a layer of blankets to him. I just carried him out and didn't have time to put on his clothes." Caroline stammered as she cursed in her heart.

Miles smiled bitterly, "I am not the father of the child."

The doctor stared at him and said, "Your blood types are the same. Young people should not shirk their responsibilities just because they want to-"

The next moment, he was interrupted by the tall man in front of him. Miles suddenly raised his head and asked in surprise, "You said my blood type is the same as his? Doctor, are you sure?"

The doctor frowned and hurriedly handed the examination report to Miles, pointing at the blood type column for him.

Miles' head exploded.

It can't be! Previously, he had come to the hospital to have his blood type examined. Why was it the same this time?

What's wrong?

Could it be...?

Wasn't the child who brought the test last time the same as the child he brought today?

Why did Caroline lie to him?

His thin lips tightened, and the child in his arms suddenly woke up, crying loudly.

Miles lowered his head and his trembling lips were tightly pressed against the child's red and swollen skin. His eyes were as cold as ice.

It wasn't until the child stopped crying and went to sleep that he raised his head and politely said to the doctor, "Please do another paternity test for us."
