Ill Fated Love novel Chapter 33

Alice woke up on a sunless morning.

Her hands were gripped tightly, and she curled up her fingers. The person lying beside the bed immediately woke up and looked at her in panic.

When Miles saw the ecstasy in Alice's eyes, he couldn't help but call the doctor excitedly.

Then the doctors and nurses went in and examined her. It took a long time before the ward quieted down.

Miles coughed, and his face was full of surprises. "Do you want some water? I can give you some water."

As he spoke, he carefully lifted Alice up and fed her some water.

Alice's back was wrapped in gauze, and she shook her head after drinking some water.

She watched as Miles put down the cup and walked around the room happily, not knowing what to do. Her eyes darkened and she finally couldn't help but shout.

"Miles--"

"Shh." As if he knew what she was going to say, Miles suddenly covered her lips gentle, his tone sounds that he's begging.

"You should take good care of your body first. What's the matter... can we talk about it when you're better?"

Touching his gaze, Alice can't say it.

After all, you have to say it.

At noon, Eric and Eason arrived, but Miles ordered them not to come to the bed. The two kids lay on the bed and muttered to Alice for a while before Miles brought them back.

Alice's injuries healed day by day. Caroline was sent to prison for illegal imprisonment and intentional murder. It was said that she was carried in. The injuries on her neck were not healed. The prison rejected her application for parole. She would probably spend the rest of her life in prison.

As Alice's body became better, Miles' mood became more unstable. He often stood alone in a daze. Sometimes, cutting a fruit for Alice could cut his fingers.

He looked at the bleeding forefinger and began to lose focus again.

Alice, who was moving around the hospital bed, turned around and saw Miles holding a fruit knife in his right hand and bleeding with his left index finger. However, he did not notice it at all, as if his soul had flown away.

In Alice's eyes, he originally didn't intend to help.

Since she had already decided to leave, there was no need for her to make such a move to mislead him.

But looking at Miles' state of unconsciously, her heart finally softened and she went forward to wrap his fingers in a handkerchief.

Miles seemed to regain his senses. He frowned and stared at Alice bandaging his fingers.

'Alice --' He pursed his lips and moved his fingers, trying to grab her hand.

But Alice said, "You're already old enough. You can't take good care of yourself. You're still so young. You can't have an accident."

She seemed to be concentrating on bandaging his fingers, and she kept on talking.

"After I leave, you have to take good care of myself. Don't be arrogant and impatient. You've raised my two children well these past few years. I'm relieved."

"In this world, anyone can live without others. Caroline's lesson must be remembered. No matter how much you like someone, don't treat her well. Leave a little room for yourself."

"Take care of yourself from now on."

Miles grabbed her wrist and a deep pain flashed through his eyes, "Is there really... no room left?"

Alice looked at the man in front of her and shook her head with a smile.

"Miles, I used to love you, but now we're over."

Little by little, she pulled her hand away from Miles' tightly clenched finger, slowly, decisively, without the slightest bit of lingering nostalgia.

"Miles, I believe you will be a good father. I wish you happy."

Miles opened his hand in vain, wanting to ask her to stay, but he didn't say anything.

It's over.

It's over.

Eason carried his little pillow down the stairs, her black and white eyes staring at him.

"Dad, mom doesn't want us anymore?"

The little child still couldn't figure out the complicated relationship, but his intuition was terrifying.

Miles hugged the child softly and sighed.

"I'm sorry. It's not our fault that Mom wants to leave."

Eason's little body trembled because he felt a warm liquid fall on his neck.

One drop, two drops...

He patted his father's shoulder with his small hand, only to find that his father's body was trembling uncontrollably.

It was as if... it would collapse at any moment.

He comforted his father awkwardly and caressed his father's broad shoulders with his small hand.

When he was in the hospital, he saw his mother do the same to his father who had fallen asleep. Every time he did this, his mother would laugh.

But Dad, who had been asleep, never knew.

He shriveled his mouth and suppressed the tears. His mother said that he was a little man, so he could not cry.

In the living room at night, the father and son hugged each other, as if they were comforting each other with the last warmth.

At this time, Alice and William also returned to the farm in the United States.
