What day is it?
The second day? Or the third day?
Alice woke up in a daze and fell asleep again.
Every time she woke up, it would be a nightmare. Caroline could always think of new ways to torture her, causing her to be covered in bruises and faints. She didn't wake up on her own.
She struggled against the wall and sat up. She panted. Her clothes had been dried by her body temperature, but she could feel the cold in her chest.
Her head rubbed against the old wall, and a large patch rustling down. Alice didn't care about hiding; she just moved forward and stretched her neck to drink the water that formed a thin layer of ice in the water tank.
The cold water flowed through her limbs and bones, but she felt hotter. Her entire body was burning.
She took a deep breath and knew that she didn't have much time left. If she couldn't escape today, she would probably die of a fever.
Her tied hands moved, grinding the rope with tiny pieces of iron dug out from the mud.
At this moment, the door was opened again.
The rope tied to her hand loosened and she closed her eyes.
She kicked her in the jaw.
"Don't pretend to be dead!" Caroline slapped her again.
Alice was slapped, but she still didn't open her eyes.
"Alright! You won't open my eyes, right? Then your eyes are useless. I'll dig them out for you." Caroline held the scissors and was about to stab Alice's eyes.
Alice suddenly opened her eyes!
Caroline was frightened by her gaze that she took a step back, and then she saw Alice move.
She rushed forward like a leopard and bit Caroline's neck!
Caroline was thrown to the ground by her, and a sharp pain came from her neck. Then, she felt that some blood was rapidly flowing away.
She struggled fiercely, and the mouth did not let go, as if it was some ferocious beast.
In pain, she thrust the scissors in her hand into Alice's back and shouted crazily, "Damn it! I'm going to kill you! I'm going to kill you!"
Caroline pulled out the scissors and inserted them again.
One, two...
Oh, it hurts so much that Alice can't bite her anymore.
She didn't expect that she would die because of Caroline in the end.
It's disgusting to think about it.
Alice bit Caroline's neck and slowly lost her strength. She slowly closed her eyes.
Goodbye, Eric, William... and... Miles.
I hope we don't meet again in the next life.
"Alice!" Alice tilted her ear and a helpless smile appeared on her lips.
Idiot, you're late again.
Miles kicked Caroline away, who had already fainted. He hugged Alice, who was bathed in blood, and roared out in pain.
"Alice, are you alright?"
He knew that the background of the man in front of him was not simple. If he wanted a person to live, then that person could not die even if he wanted to.
His brows furrowed, but he didn't say anything in the end.
William followed the ambulance and rushed to the hospital to the emergency room. Alice's appearance was too terrifying. He slid down the surgical door and sat on the ground for a long time without saying a word.
It took William a long time before he took out his phone to dial a number that he never called before.
"Dad, it's been so many years. I only ask you one thing..."
Two hours later, a medical team composed of the country's top medical masters, some of whom could only be family doctors for some big shots, rushed to the hospital and took over Alice's operation.
They were followed by a vigorous old man, followed by a group of guards dressed in civilian clothes, who quickly put the entire hospital under siege.
"You! You're finally willing to call me father." The old man held William in his arms, with his tears flashing.
William sniffled and his eyes were red. "Dad, sorry and thank you."
The old man sighed and said a lot to William. Seeing that William was absent-minded today, he could only sigh and leave.
Before he left, he left behind a sentence.
Dad is old and I can't protect you for many years. Don't blame me for leaving you alone in America. In those turbulent times, there was only one way to get you back.
I'm sorry, my son.
William didn't know how much he listened, but he stared at the red light in the operating room.
The old man's guards stayed here. Miles stayed in the operating room in the middle of the night. The nanny at home sent Eric and Eason to the hospital. She was almost frightened by this information. She put down the children and left.
Eric and Eason don't mind the blood stains on Dad's body. They quietly found a place to squat down and looked at the operating room without blinking an eye.
