Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 2879

She felt half her body go weak, as if even her soul no longer belonged to her.

...

The basement of the private villa, and especially the home theater, had the best soundproofing.

It allowed for complete abandon—no need to hold back, no reason to worry.

By the time Sylvia returned to the Quintin family home, night had already fallen. She distributed the gifts she had bought to Old Mr. Quintin and the others.

Old Mr. Jarvis was all smiles. “You bought something for me too?”

Old Mr. Quintin, clutching his own gift, looked smug. “That’s only because of me! You’re just reaping the benefits.”

Old Mr. Jarvis didn’t bother arguing; he knew perfectly well who he had to thank for the gift.

Georgia was especially delighted with her present from Sylvia. “Gab, thank you for all your help today.”

Gabriel glanced coolly at Sylvia and replied with a smile, “It was nothing. I’m happy to help.”

Sylvia walked over and fastened the bracelet onto Georgia’s wrist herself.

Gabriel spoke up, “It really suits you, Georgia.”

Georgia held up her wrist for him to see, teasing, “You didn’t pick this out, did you?”

“No,” Gabriel replied with a faint smile, “Sylvia chose it herself.”

Georgia nodded knowingly. “That’s what I thought. This is definitely my Nana’s taste.”

As the three of them chatted, Old Mr. Jarvis grinned and nudged Old Mr. Quintin, “Just look at Gab and Sylvia—don’t they make a perfect pair?”

Old Mr. Quintin, however, was feeling more and more reluctant to let Sylvia go. The thought that she might get married and move to C City, making her visits rare, made his heart ache. He bristled and said, “I don’t see it.”

Old Mr. Jarvis shook his head. “You need your eyes checked.”

Old Mr. Quintin snorted and turned away in a huff.

“I understand!” Eugene replied with a gentle laugh. After a moment’s pause, he added, “Even if we can’t be together, I’ll always be a friend you can count on. If you ever need anything, I’m here.”

Sylvia smiled softly. “Alright.”

After hanging up, Sylvia’s eyes sparkled thoughtfully. After a brief moment, she sent Gabriel a message: [Thanks for your help. I appreciate it.]

Gabriel replied almost immediately: [Who are you thanking me for?]

Sylvia frowned lightly at the message, then pressed her lips together and typed: [Mr. Winters thanked me, so now I’m thanking you.]

Gabriel: [Do you know why I did it?]

Sylvia held her phone, not sure how to reply.

Soon, another message from him popped up: [Since you know, don’t contact him again. Just because I never brought it up later doesn’t mean I’m okay with it.]

Sylvia raised an eyebrow at her phone but didn’t respond. Her silence was protest enough. She put her phone down and, in a good mood, turned back to her work.
