When Dominic lifted Vespera's nightgown, he saw her perfectly curved silhouette that was hugged by black lace.

His gaze lingered for a few more seconds, then he calmly slid the black lace down. He squeezed a dab of ointment and began to apply it.

In the beginning, the scene was quite warm and loving, but the atmosphere gradually changed. Vespera's face, buried in the pillow, turned crimson. Her breathing also quickened.

Then, a muffled whimper trembled into the pillow. When Dominic heard that, his touch became firmer, which made Vespera whimper again.

Suddenly, the room fell silent. A while later, Dominic let out a resigned sigh and wiped his hands with a tissue. He leaned down and whispered into her ear, "Vera, at this rate, the ointment will be wasted."

Vespera's cheeks flushed as she snapped, "You're so annoying!"

Dominic kissed her ear and said, "We'll reapply it later."

Why did Dominic want to reapply? Vespera raised her head, showing her flushed face. She shouted, "Give me the ointment. I'll apply it myself!"

Dominic chuckled and said, "You don't need to be polite. I don't mind helping."

Vespera pointed to the door and responded, "If so, you can leave."

Vespera thought that she couldn't let Dominic stay in the same place with her anymore.

Dominic caressed her face and said shamelessly, "How can I leave you in this state? I have to stay and take care of you. You lost a lot of fluids. Are you thirsty? Do you want me to get you water?"

Vespera stared at him, speechless. Then, she buried her head back in the pillow.

Of course, Dominic didn't leave. Instead, he went to shower and stayed back to take care of Vespera. However, she didn't think he was taking care of her. To her, he was more of a threat.

Later, when Dominic tried coaxing Vespera into letting him apply the ointment again, she flatly refused twice. In the end, he only applied the ointment after she drifted off to sleep, which led to her being tormented by vivid dreams.
