Vespera lunged forward, pressing both hands against Dominic's chest. With fear in her eyes, she shouted, "Don't you dare do anything stupid!"

Just then, the bedroom door burst open. Rebecca called out, "Vera, wake…"

She strolled in with carefree steps. The moment her eyes landed on the scene inside, her eyes widened, and she stopped dead in her tracks.

What Rebecca saw could only be described as explosive. Vespera, who was usually cool and composed, was now straddling Dominic with both hands planted on his chest.

Vespera had barely recovered from the earlier chaos when Rebecca's surprise entrance shocked her. Both Vespera and Dominic looked toward the door in unison. All three of their gazes met, and silence fell.

"Becca." Someone else called out from outside.

Rebecca reacted quickly and stepped back before shutting the door with a bang. Outside, Wanda, who was already halfway there, was startled.

Rebecca lied without a change of expression, "Vera has already left for work."

Wanda raised an eyebrow and asked, "Did she? Why's her car still in the garage then?"

Rebecca nervously chuckled and said, "Maybe she didn't feel like driving today and took a cab."

Wanda glanced at the bedroom door, which had just been shut with suspicious urgency. A flicker of doubt crossed her face, but she didn't push it. Instead, she said, "That's possible. Let's have breakfast then."

As Wanda turned to leave, she let out a soft sigh. Back at the door, Rebecca ran a hand through her hair. She pulled out her phone and sent Vespera a message, saying, "I did my best, but I think your mom has guessed it."

Inside the bedroom, Vespera saw the message and let her hands fall to her side like all the strength had drained out of her. What should she do?

Dominic saw that Vespera was frowning and said, "Don't worry. I'll go out and talk to her. When she has calmed down, you can come out."

Upon hearing that, Vespera panicked even more. She said, "No! You absolutely can't go out there!"
