*Buzz, buzz—*
Her phone suddenly vibrated. Coralie checked it and saw a message from Odom.
It was another photo of Channing.
Almost every week, Odom would give her updates on how Channing was doing.
He had gone to another country and went sailing.
Odom's message said he would be returning to Caelus in a week.
He was coming back?
Staring at those words, Coralie felt a sudden, inexplicable knot of anxiety in her chest.
She wondered if Channing would come looking for her.
He had incredibly sharp eyes; would he notice the changes in her body?
And if he did, how on earth was she supposed to explain it?
Channing...
Coralie's emotions were in complete turmoil. As much as she dreaded his return.
It seemed...
She also kind of missed him.
They had been apart for nearly a hundred days.
"Ms. Quill, the announcement is starting," the manager beside her gently reminded, snapping Coralie out of her daze.
She locked her phone and focused all her attention on the stage.
The host had stepped down, and the executive in charge of the bidding process took the microphone.
"There were many excellent bids for Plot 5. After careful consideration, we have selected our winner."
Hearing this, Rocco immediately adjusted his tie, preparing to stand up while shooting a gloating look at Coralie.
Coralie sat frozen in her chair, her hands clenched tightly together, her face pale.
She was clearly incredibly anxious.
When he walked up to sign the agreement, he was definitely going to strut right past her.
"The winning enterprise for this project is..." the executive's booming voice echoed through the hall.
Rocco stood up, his sudden movement instantly drawing the attention of everyone in the room.
Including the executive who was just about to announce the name.
