Ophelia suppressed a smile, instinctively glancing at Lucien. 

She searched his face for any hint of a reaction, but his expression remained unreadable. A strange unease began to stir in her chest. 

Neither of them spoke on the way to the office. 

Elsewhere, Calista had just arrived at work. 

The moment she stepped through the doors, Zelda called out sharply, “Calista, come with me. Now.

Without another word, Zelda tossed a project contract onto the desk in front of her. 

“Tonight at 8:00 pm, you’ll be meeting Richard Hollings, the CEO of Soarlux Group. This project is yours now. I expect you not to disappoint me.” 

Calista remained composed despite Zelda’s condescending tone, but the sudden assignment had genuinely taken her by surprise. 

“Just me?” she asked, gesturing to herself uncertainly. 

“Who else? This is work, not a group project. We don’t need a whole crowd. Besides, it’s just an initial quote, not a contract signing. Funny how you had no problem speaking up in front of Mr. Fenwick, but now you’re nervous?” 

Zelda couldn’t resist the jab, but Calista was used to her snide remarks by now. They barely even registered. 

“Understood,” Calista replied evenly, taking the folder without noticing the subtle satisfaction on her colleagues‘ faces. 

She soon returned to her work, keeping herself busy until noon. 

Thankfully, no one asked her to work through lunch this time. 

Calista was on her way to the cafeteria when her phone rang. It turned out to be Wendy, who summoned Calista to the underground parking lot. 

From a distance, Calista spotted the car and reluctantly made her way over. 

As she stopped in front of it, the window rolled down slowly. 

Inside sat Wendy, dressed in an expensive leather jacket. She adjusted her clothes with a scowl on her face.
