Chapter 63
Calista stared blankly at the scene before her.
She watched as the man she suspected of causing her accident walked straight up to Lucien.
“Mr. Fenwick, your umbrella.” The man seemed completely unabashed as he stepped behind Lucien.
Calista turned her head back almost mechanically. She felt her head spin, and a wave of nausea surged from her gut.
“Calista… Calista…”
Everything around her began to blur, and the voices grew muffled and faint.
Calista stared blankly ahead, allowing her body to fall backward, collapsing into the muddy rainwater. The scene before her spun wildly, and both the man and Lucien came into view.
Before she completely lost consciousness, she used the last ounce of her strength to pull her hand away.
She could now finally say, without the slightest hesitation, that she utterly hated Lucien.
In the very next moment, Calista lost all consciousness.
When Calista woke up next, she found herself lying in a hospital bed.
The blindingly white walls, the sharp beeping of machines, and the pungent smell of disinfectant overwhelmed her senses.
“I just want to take a look.”
Lost in a daze, Calista suddenly heard a familiar voice drift in from just beyond the door.
She forced herself to walk over. Only then did she recognize that the person at the door was Rebecca.
Galen stood firmly in front of the doorway, his expression cold and indifferent.
“Mr. Fenwick has given strict orders. No outsiders are allowed to enter.”
Hearing this, Rebecca was at a loss for words.
