Chapter 810 Allies and Agendas
Hayley’s POV:
“You’ll know once you have a look at it,” Truman said coolly, crossing one leg over the other. One hand rested along the back of the couch and the other lazily on his knee. He looked like he owned the room.
I shot him an annoyed glare and got a maid to bring me a laptop. Then, right in front of him, I plugged in the flash drive and got to work.
There was only one folder on the drive, labeled “RJ“. It was filled with a few documents and some thumbnails.
I clicked on one of the images. And the moment I saw it, my stomach dropped.
I sat there for a beat, trying to process. Then I clenched my fist, lifted my head, and snapped at him. “You’re investigating me?”
The woman in the photo wasn’t just anyone. It was Rosalie, the one I’d been desperately trying to find.
Truman replied with a faint smirk, “I investigated the person you were investigating. Let’s be accurate.”
“Oh, please,” I said with a scoff. “You expect me to believe you knew I was looking for her without looking into me first?”
Honestly, if it weren’t for the timing, I’d have let Hera take over and torn into this arrogant bastard right there.
“Maybe I just know you that well,” he said with a calm smile.
“No, you think you do. And I suggest you quit making assumptions about me. I don’t like being watched.” It reminded me too much of the people hiding behind SI Organization–like I was being tracked again.
Truman just shrugged, offering no defense.
A few seconds passed. I forced myself to breathe and think clearly again.
I didn’t bother digging through the rest of the files. I closed the folder, scrubbed the laptop clean of any traces, and shut the lid.
Once the screen went dark, I turned to him again. “Why are you helping me?”
“You’re the mate I chose,” he said without hesitation. “You’re going to be my Luna one day. Who else would I help?”
I narrowed my eyes. “Don’t give me that ‘say–it–so–the–room–shuts–up‘ kind of excuse. Give me a real reason. One that makes sense.”
He gave a sigh, almost like he was trying to humor me. “I mean, what I said is true… but fine. The other reasons.”
He straightened a little, his tone turning more serious. “Business.”
“Business?” I raised an eyebrow, trying to decide whether to buy it.
He said confidently, “Yeah. You’ve pulled two top–tier gemstones from that vault. Sure, some of it’s luck, but

I know that’s not all it is. You’ve got skill, too. And people like you–people who have both–dont.come around often.
“I like working with lucky people. I always have.”
I gave a dry laugh. “You, Alpha of the Grimmoon Pack, putting your Freya in luck? That’s rich.
