Chapter 840 Gavin’s Attitude 

Celine’s POV: 

It wasn’t supposed to be like this! 

I stood frozen, not knowing what to say or do. 

Outside, a crowd of guests was waiting for me to explain what had happened. 

Once I stepped out of this room, everyone would know–Hayley was the angel who had saved my dad, showing kindness instead of revenge. They’d praise her endlessly! 

And I—the star of my own birthday party–would be left with nothing but mockery and scorn. 

This was supposed to be my moment! 

How could someone as lowly as Hayley, an Omega, steal my spotlight and set me up to look like the villain in front of everyone? 

These people were all big names from different packs. Once they went home, my reputation across the continent would be ruined for good! 

Panic flooded my mind as I desperately tried to figure out what to do. 

But the more anxious I became, the harder it was to think of a solution. 

Suddenly, a weak voice came from the bed. 

“Celine … 

“Mr. Walton is awake! Mr. Walton is awake!” Tessa shouted, snapping me out of my daze. My dad was awake! 

I turned and saw Tessa helping Dad sit up against the headboard. 

Relief and fear mixed inside me. I called out in disbelief, “Dad?” 

Dad pressed his hand to the makeshift bandage on his wound and nodded weakly at me. 

Finally, I snapped out of my panic and rushed to his side, tears streaming down my face as I grabbed his hand. “Dad, you’re awake! Thank goodness you’re okay!” 

As long as Dad was here, I didn’t have to be afraid of anyone. Even if Truman kept defending Hayley, he wouldn’t dare lay a hand on me in front of him.  

As long as Dad was alive, I still had someone to rely on! 

Dad struggled to raise his hand, gently ruffling my hair. His voice was soft. “It’s okay. No matter what happens, I’m here. You don’t have to be scared.” 

His words made my heart ache, and I burst into sobs. 

I regretted everything–how could I let my grudge against Hayley, an Omega, nearly cost Dad his life?
