DOMINIC
He started at me, and I stared back at him. Proposal he said. I didn't even know what I was doing here to begin with. I loathed this fucker. I wanted him six feet under. For everything he had done so far.
But I was here, and I was waiting to hear whatever fucked up idea he had in his fucked up mind. “You might want to sit down for this Dom, don't act like we're strangers…”
What is that even supposed to mean?
“I'd rather stand. And please get to the fucking point already. I'm barely containing myself as it is…” I said cooly, but even he knew there was nothing cool about me. The rage inside me was waiting for that tick to explode and I hoped to God it would be on him alone without any casualties.
He smiled, then reached for the box of cigarette seating nicely on his- my table. It was mine even now and it was just a matter of time before I took everything they stole from us back.
He took a stick out, stretched his hand forward offering it to me. If it had been Alex, we would have had a nice quiet smoke.
I chuckled in my head. He too was one fucker I hated but look at how fate turned things around. Alex had become the only person that wasn't family that I trusted. Oh wait, he actually is family. He and Raina are legal.
Back to Nathan, I glared at him, and pinned him with my stare as if to strangle him from where I stood. He smiled and shook his head. “No? More for me then…” He took his lighter out and took a draw at the cigar.
“You know, Raina hated when I smoked…” he started.
She still does, asshole. “But its not like she's going to find out. I know you got her married to Alex to save the company. But I want you to give her to me…” he took a big whiff of the stick in his hand and blew the smoke in my direction, his face turning serious. Like murderously so. “...get her divorced, married to me and I will help you take my uncle down…”
I didn't know what games he was playing at but I was curious, despite knowing there was no way I was going to put Raina through all of this shit. Why hadn't I even given the police all the evidence of his crimes?
“Before you say no, think about it. I know what this company means to the both of you. I can help you get it back…”
This time, I took a seat. I needed to think and I needed to do so without standing. If there was anything I got out of this request, it was that he was trying to fuck us over again.
First, this was definitely a trap. Secondly, I knew what his intensions about marrying Raina was. He wanted our family's entire fortune and he could get it if he was legally married to her.
Not unless I get her to transfer and distribute everything among the family, especially the kids. The thought made me smile.
“Mr Graham…” the lawyer, said standing on his feet to greet me. “I wasn't expecting you..”
I didn't expect to be in his office either but here I was. I nodded and took a seat. Out of the few times I was here, I always took a look around. At the back of my head, there was always a thought to make sure that no one could hear us.
“I need you to draft out some property transfer documents fast and whatever you have going on needed to be canceled. This is an emergency.” The urgency in my voice almost made me cringe. The desperation was heavy and thick. I embraced it.
This was my family we were talking about. There was no time to think about what he or someone else thought of me.
He looked up with wide eyes and a frown followed after. He would like to know why I requested for these and why he needed to come with me.
“Come on, man. Hurry the fuck up, we've got shit to do.” I urged and he nodded, typing away on his laptop.
And soon, well, after what felt like an eternity, he got on his feet and walked over to the printer by the door of his office.
