Chapter 175
Her eyes sparkled with dark amusement, and she leaned forward, elbows on the metal table. “He’s everything I want. The power, the influence, the money. And, let’s not forget, taking him would devastate Raina. Isn’t that what you want?”
I turned my head to the side, watching her. She was bold, I’ll admit. “Fascinating. Very fascinating,” I said low, fingers steepled together in front of me as I watched her. “You know, Eliza, you keep surprising me.”
She cocked an eyebrow, smirk never wavering “Good I’d hate to be predictable”
Her confidence amused me, but it interested me, too. She had no idea that she was playing into my hands. “Alright,” I said, leaning forward. “Tell me more. What’s your plan?”
She hesitated for a moment, her eyes flashing with uncertainty. “Why should I tell you? What do I gain by sharing my thoughts with you?
I laughed, low and husly, and shook my head. “Because, Eliza, you need me. You might not want to admit it, but you can’t do this alone. And I can get you what you want–Dominic, power, a place in the Graham family. All of it.”
Her eyes narrowed, suspicion written across her face. “And what do you want in return?”
“Raina,” I said simply, my voice even and measured. “You keep Dominic occupied, and I’ll take care of Raina. That’s all you need to know.”
She lounged back in her chair, folding her arms across her chest as she regarded me. “You’ve got a lot of nerve, you know that?”
“I’ve been told,” I said, smiling. “So, do we have a deal?”
Her lips curled into a wicked smile. “Alright then. But don’t think for one moment that I trust you, Nathan.”
as we get what we want, that’s all that counts”
I chuckled, the sound ringing in the tiny room. “Trust is overrated, don’t you think? As long as
She leaned in closer, her voice lowering to a conspirator’s whisper. “I can get to him. You won’t even see it coming.”
And she was right.
I watched the surveillance footage of her with Dominic, a satisfied smile tugging at my lips. She played her part beautifully, weaving herself into his life with a precision that even I hadn’t anticipated.
Of course, I did have to intervene a few times, such as taking care of that pesky walter and erasing the surveillance footage that might have implicated her. But that was all part of the game. Eliza was a useful pawn, and I had no intention of letting her mess things up
But Alex couldn’t protect everyone.
My mind turned to Domink, the brother who thought he could outplay me. With Eliza firmly planted in his house, I had the leverage that I needed. And if Dominle thought he could keep Faith safe, he was sadly mistaken.
I cose, pacing the room as the plan began to form. “If Raina won’t come to me of her own free will,” I used, “I’ll force her hand.”
Deminle had two weakmesses: his wife and his sister. And now, with Eliza in place, I could exploit bor
1 stopped at the window, looking out over the city lights. “Let’s see how much you’re willing to sacrifice, Dominic,” I said, my voice low and menacing Your wife or your sister. Let’s see which one matters more.”
The thought filled me with a twisted sense of satisfaction. Raina wouldn’t know what hit her–neither would Alex nor Dominie.
I looked back at my phone, typing furiously in a message to one of my gays. It was time to set the wheels in motion. This game was far from over.
And when the dust had settled, Raina would be mine.
