When They Beg I Rise (Lemira) novel Chapter 742

Asher's voice was edged with anger as he took in the wrecked state of the room.

Lemira kicked a nearby object aside. “Let me ask you—your whole life, you've constantly used Mom and Dad’s name to pressure me. But what about you? You actually gave away their room! Does that even make you human?”

“It was just for one night, so the guests wouldn’t see and laugh at us. What’s wrong with that?”

Asher didn’t see the issue. After all, it was Evelina who had managed to connect with PZ Group, even inviting their CEO to the wedding. That was all thanks to her.

Lemira stepped forward, her eyes sharp and unyielding. “This is Mom and Dad’s room. No one touches it—especially not Evelina. She doesn’t deserve it!”

“But Evelina’s done so much for the Langston family. And what about you? All you ever do is go against us!”

“If that's how you see it, then I’d be letting you down if I didn’t do something drastic, wouldn’t I?”

Lemira swept her gaze around the room. “Have all this cleared out—now. Otherwise, all of you can get out of here!”

“You’re the one who should leave!”

“Asher, don’t forget—the deed to this house is in my name now. This is my home. I make the rules.”

Lemira stood her ground, her expression proud and defiant.

Asher looked about ready to lash out, but Lucian stepped in to restrain him. “Asher, what do you think you’re doing? Let her go!”

“Don’t stop me! Did you hear what that brat just said? How can she talk like that?”

Asher was seething with rage.

“Asher, you’re not blameless, either. You agreed to let Evelina use Mom and Dad’s room just for your own benefit. Do they even matter to you anymore?”

“But they’ve been gone for so many years! What did they ever do for me?”

Asher’s emotions were fraying. “I’ve staked everything on this deal. Even if Lemira has the Everhart family behind her, the market’s too big for anyone to control alone.”

Besides, with a global powerhouse like PZ Group involved, the Langston Group could expand internationally and still turn a profit.

Lemira turned away, her voice icy. “You’ll all know soon enough.”

That day wasn’t far off.

Lucian wanted to press her further, but the house staff had already come in. Not wanting to be overheard, he held his tongue.

Lemira watched as everything was cleared out of the room, and the old furniture was brought back in. Some pieces were damaged from the move.

She ran her fingers along the dressing table, her heart tightening at the sight of a crack in the wood.

The traces of those who have passed fade with time. In the end, they die a second death—when they vanish from memory.

Softly, Lemira whispered, “Mom, Dad, tomorrow I’ll finally be able to get justice for you.”

She had waited far too long for this day.
