The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback novel Chapter 905

"But she cannot stay at your place forever," Felicia pointed out gently. "She needs professional medical and psychological treatment."

"Let us just keep her here for now," Luke replied. "As for treatment, we will have to wait until her condition stabilizes and see what Ivy decides to do."

"Understood."

Felicia walked out of the villa just as Savannah was stepping out of her car. Savannah waved enthusiastically. "Felicia!"

Felicia hurried over to greet her.

"Where is Luke?" Savannah asked, glancing toward the grand house.

"He is not home. I was just helping him look after someone."

Savannah looked puzzled. "Look after who?"

"Let's go inside first."

Felicia linked her arm through Savannah's, and as they walked back to the Ross estate, she gave her friend a brief rundown of the situation.

Savannah was equally baffled. If someone from the Manning family was unwell, why wouldn't they receive top-tier care at the Manning estate? Why would Ivy send her to Luke's place?

"I am guessing whatever caused her trauma happened inside the Manning household," Felicia theorized. "That is probably why Miss Manning asked Luke for a favor to keep her safe."

"So, how are things progressing between Luke and this Miss Manning?"

"I have no idea. That is entirely up to him."

Savannah shot Felicia a knowing look and shook her head with a helpless sigh. Luke's past hesitation truly was a pity. If he had only been a bit more forceful and proactive back then, he would probably have children running around by now. Unfortunately, there were no 'what ifs' in life.

Ava and Colton were already aware that Luke had brought a girl home. They had even sent food over twice, though the housekeeper had returned it untouched.

"How is the poor dear doing?" Ava asked as Felicia walked in.

"She had an IV drip this afternoon and managed to eat a little bit," Felicia reassured her. "Her mental state seems slightly better now."

Ava sighed sympathetically. "That poor child. Heaven only knows what she has been through."

That night, Savannah stayed over at the Ross family home. Ava had already instructed the staff to prepare a fresh guest room for her.

Early the next morning, Felicia carried an insulated lunchbox over to Luke's villa. The housekeeper was busy dusting the foyer.

"How did she sleep last night?" Felicia asked.

"Miss Willa was very quiet through the night. She is awake now," the housekeeper replied.

Felicia nodded and made her way upstairs. When she pushed open the bedroom door, she found Willa sitting silently on the balcony. A gentle morning breeze played with her dark hair. She looked as beautiful and tragically fragile as a glass ornament about to shatter.

Hearing the door open, Willa reacted slightly, turning her head toward the sound.

Felicia walked over and set the insulated box on the small round table.

"Did you sleep well last night?" Felicia asked softly.

Willa stared blankly in Felicia's direction and offered a small, hesitant nod.

"Let's have some breakfast, then."

She carefully peeled an egg, placed it in Willa's hand, and said gently, "Eat the egg first."
