Felicia and Savannah both looked at him, Savannah suddenly feeling her heart tighten.
Darin looked down at Anne. "I do not know yet."
Anne gazed back at him solemnly. "You need to hurry up, Uncle Darin. Otherwise, your future wife might marry someone else, and you won't have a wife at all."
Darin couldn't help but laugh. "You certainly know a lot. Did your dad teach you that nonsense?"
"Do not go putting words in my mouth," Max shot back immediately.
"Darin," Felicia added softly. "You really should start thinking about your own future."
Darin turned to Felicia and nodded. "Alright, I know."
His gaze accidentally met Savannah's. She looked back at him, her expression perfectly calm.
Holding her gaze for a moment, Darin gently set Anne down.
Just then, the groom's parents hurried over. Knowing that Max and Darin were attending, the hosts had instructed their staff to keep an eye out. The moment they arrived, the hosts were immediately notified.
"Mr. Hawthorne, Mr. Foxhall," the groom's father greeted them enthusiastically.
Max and Darin shook hands with him.
When the man's gaze shifted to Felicia, Max made the introduction. "This is my wife."
"Mrs. Hawthorne, a pleasure to meet you. Welcome." They had known Max was married, so the introduction came as no surprise.
After exchanging brief pleasantries, the host personally escorted them into the banquet hall, seating them at the VIP table.
Anne wanted to sit between her parents, but Max instructed her to sit on his other side. Anne pouted in dissatisfaction. "I want to sit next to Mommy."
"I need to take care of your mommy," Max explained patiently. "Your cousins will be here soon, and they can sit next to you."
Hearing this, Anne finally relented.
Soon enough, Daniel and his family of four arrived.
