The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback novel Chapter 906

Willa gripped the egg lightly in her fingers. Felicia watched patiently as the girl took small, tentative bites, chewing slowly until she finished it entirely. Once she was done, Felicia handed her a glass of warm water to wash it down.

"Try these toasts. They are really delicious."

Willa did not resist. She took a bite. "It tastes very good."

"I am glad you like it."

After finishing the toasts, Felicia fed her a few spoonfuls of milk, but Willa gently shook her head, unable to stomach any more.

Felicia packed up the containers and sat beside her for a while, chatting softly. "You cannot stay cooped up in this room forever. The weather is beautiful today. Let me take you for a walk in the yard."

"I cannot see," Willa murmured, her tone flat. "Sitting here is fine."

Felicia could sense the girl's overwhelming fear of being a burden.

"Your blindness is only temporary," Felicia encouraged gently. "Getting outside, breathing fresh air, and connecting with nature might even help you recover your sight faster. I do not have much going on right now anyway, so let me keep you company."

It was not even eight o'clock yet, and Anne was not expected to arrive until around ten.

Felicia reached out and firmly but gently took Willa's hand. Guiding her carefully, she led the girl downstairs and out into the courtyard. The crisp morning breeze was incredibly refreshing.

"Felicia!"

The bright voice belonged to Savannah. Felicia turned to see her friend walking through the main gates.

"She is one of Luke's friends," Felicia whispered to Willa, explaining the sudden arrival.

Willa nodded quietly.

As Savannah approached, she caught a clear view of Willa's face and stopped dead in her tracks, completely stunned by the girl's ethereal features.

"Savannah?" Felicia prompted, noticing her shock.

Snapping out of her daze, Savannah offered an apologetic smile to Willa. "I am sorry for staring. It is just incredibly rare to see a girl as beautiful and gentle as you."

Willa possessed the kind of delicate fragility that instantly evoked a fierce protective instinct in anyone who saw her. However, she offered no response to the compliment.

"Did you need something, Savannah?" Felicia asked.

Savannah handed Felicia her phone. "Max called you twice."

As Savannah said the name, Felicia noticed a sharp, subtle reaction cross Willa's face. Felicia's brow furrowed. "What is it?"

"Have you thought about my offer?" he suddenly asked, circling back to his demand for her to visit New York.

Realizing she had walked right into his trap, Felicia desperately wanted to hang up. Then, remembering the strange reaction from moments ago, she pivoted sharply. "Do you know Willa?"

Max did not call her out for the obvious deflection. The moment he heard the name, his tone shifted dramatically, losing all traces of amusement. "How do you know about her?"

Felicia caught the sharp change in his voice and hesitated, wondering if she should press further. Before she could decide, Max spoke again.

"Is she at Luke's place?"

Felicia froze in surprise. "How did you know?"

"Just a guess."

Felicia felt a chill run down her spine. She had not given him a single detail, yet he had deduced the entire situation from one simple question. His mind was terrifyingly sharp.

"She is in a terrible state right now. Miss Manning asked Luke to help look after her," Felicia explained cautiously, keeping the details sparse.

"You want to know what happened to her at the Manning family estate, don't you?"
