"Luke and the Manning girl were not meant to be," Rose answered with a sigh. "He has someone else in his heart now, and he is actively pursuing her."
"That is a pity," Hope remarked wistfully. "But as long as there is someone he truly cares about, it’s all good. I was genuinely worried he would not fall for anyone at all." She then turned her attention to Miranda. "I used to think Max would be the hardest one to settle down, but now he is about to be a father of two. He is much more approachable than he ever was before. You really had incredible foresight back then."
Miranda smiled warmly. "Yes, becoming a father certainly changes a man for the better."
Forcing Max and Felicia to finalize their marriage certificate had turned out to be the absolute right decision. She never expected them to make it this far. It could only be chalked up to the perfect arrangement of fate.
Luke exchanged pleasantries with Hope and the other elders.
Daniel pulled him aside quietly. "Jeffrey has been discharged from the hospital. What is the current situation with Willa?"
"Her emotions are entirely stable now," Luke replied. "I am planning to accompany her to Westshore Academy. She wants to continue her studies."
Willa had been accepted there before and attended for a full semester. Later, she took a leave of absence and was brought back by Jeffrey.
"That is a very good plan," Daniel nodded in agreement. "Which campus will she attend?"
"Boston."
"When are you leaving?"
"In three days."
"How long do you plan to stay there?"
"I am not completely sure. Probably at least a month. I need to get her thoroughly settled first. Ivy is coming along as well."
Daniel nodded approvingly. "Alright, go ahead. Make sure you explain things properly to Mom."
"I know," Luke assured him.
When lunchtime arrived, the large group slowly made their way to the elegant dining room.
Max introduced Felicia to Nate.
