"There are at least four guards at the entrance," Edmund whispered, his eyes carefully scanning the dark hallway.

It was hard for Primrose to see the condition of the hallway since it was so dark, and her view was blocked by Edmund. Because of that, she simply believed everything her husband said.

"When I sneak into the corridor, can you distract them with something for a while?" Primrose asked. "That way, they won’t realize that I’m entering from the window."

Edmund nodded. "I got it."

He picked a few pebbles from his pocket—yes, pebbles. It seemed like her husband had already anticipated that he would need to do this, so he had prepared them in advance.

With his other arm still wrapped around Primrose’s waist, he carefully shifted his body so his wife would have a clear path to slip into the corridor.

"You can go in as soon as I give you a hint, got it?" he asked.

Primrose nodded without hesitation. "Got it."

She took several deep breaths to calm her rapidly beating heart.

"Primrose," Edmund suddenly called her name, drawing all of her attention for a moment. "You’ll be fine."

With that reassurance, Primrose no longer felt too worried. After all, no matter what happened, her husband would always stay by her side.

Not long after that, Edmund threw a few pebbles toward the window near the soldiers, causing all of them to turn their heads in that direction.

"Now," Edmund whispered.

At the same time, Primrose slipped into the corridor, while Edmund climbed back onto the roof just before the soldiers opened the window near him.

"Who’s there?!" one of the soldiers shouted as he looked left and right, searching for whoever had thrown something at the window.

"Could it be a bird?"

"What kind of bird throws stones at a window?"

"Who knows?" another guard muttered. "Maybe it was just a branch falling."

While they were still busy searching for the culprit, Primrose walked confidently toward them, acting like a lost lamb in the middle of the dark.

"Excuse me, Sir..." Primrose’s soft voice startled all of them, making them turn their attention from the window toward her.

She stopped a few steps away, keeping just enough distance from them. Then she softened her expression, making herself look harmless and gentle, the kind of person no one would see as a threat.

"L-Lady Primrose?! What are you doing here?!" one of the guards blurted out.
