The Ex-Wife's Burning Elegance novel Chapter 2166

The sheer violence of Sellers's strike not only left Aurora completely dazed but also stunned everyone else in the room.

No one had expected him to resort to physical violence.

Regardless of the circumstances, Sellers was the head of his family.

Beating a woman in public was an appalling breach of etiquette and wildly humiliating.

Furthermore, his explosive rage seemed deeply confusing to the onlookers.

Even if she had lied to him, he hadn't bothered to stop her from marrying McCoy back then.

Why was he suddenly so furious that he completely lost his composure?

By all accounts, McCoy should have been the one acting out.

The crowd had no idea that Sellers had just lost his only chance at an heir, nor did they know he suspected Aurora of poisoning him to ensure his sterility.

In that moment, he wanted nothing more than to kill her!

Completely losing his mind, Sellers began kicking and punching her mercilessly.

By the time the bystanders finally snapped out of their shock and dragged him away, Aurora was bruised and battered. Her elegant, beautiful facade was gone, replaced by a pathetic, bloodied mess.

Zara tilted her head. "McCoy, she's such a vile woman. Don't you want to hit her a few times to blow off some steam?"

McCoy stared down at Aurora, his eyes colder than ice.

"There's no need. I don't want to dirty my hands."

He was still a gentleman at his core; he couldn't bring himself to beat a woman in front of a crowd.

After pulling Sellers back, Jonathan turned to Coleman Williams. "Coleman, take her home first."

Given Aurora's actions, a beating was getting off lightly.

Even if word of this got out, people would only say she deserved it. There would be absolutely zero sympathy for her.

If the situation escalated, the Williams family would be the ones facing the worst humiliation.

But how could they blame Stella for Aurora's decision to cheat and sleep around?

At this point, Skyler was almost relieved that Stella was the one pulling the strings at the company.

Otherwise, a scandal of this magnitude would have sent their stock prices plunging into the abyss.

The Chapman family would have undoubtedly used this to extort them, demanding massive concessions and financial compensation.

But now, the Chapmans couldn't make any such demands.

They knew full well that since Aurora held no real power, her scandals—while incredibly ugly—would have a limited impact on The Williams Group. The damage was entirely contained.

As much as he hated to admit it, Skyler knew that all the time, money, and effort he had poured into grooming Aurora had been completely wasted.

She was absolutely useless now.

After a long, agonizing silence, Skyler finally spoke, his voice grim. "Aurora, if Shay doesn't belong to McCoy or Sellers, then whose child is she? If we have to raise her here, we need to know who the father is."
