Aurora kept her head down, her messy hair hiding her expression.
"...The father might be Sherman Burton."
At the mention of Sherman's name, both Skyler and Jonathan furrowed their brows.
If Sellers and Sherman weren't related, marrying her off to Sherman might have been an option.
But she had slept with Sellers, tricked him into thinking the baby was his, and also slept with Sherman and had his child.
Sellers was the head of the Burton family, and he clearly loathed her to her core.
There was no way the Burtons would accept a woman who played both sides like that. It would only ignite a civil war within their ranks.
A woman like her wouldn't even be tolerated within the Williams household.
It wasn't just about status or background anymore; her sheer existence was a threat to family stability.
"Does Sherman know?" Jonathan asked sharply.
"I don't know," she whispered.
Sherman had arranged the fake paternity tests for her.
Whether he knew the truth about the baby's parentage, she honestly had no idea.
Skyler let out a heavy sigh. "It doesn't matter if he knows now. We'll raise Shay here. In a few days, take her to get her last name changed. She'll be a Williams from now on. There's no point in dragging out this marriage with McCoy. Sign the divorce papers immediately."
In Solmaris, there was no mandatory cooling-off period for divorces. They could end it whenever they wanted.
Without any assets to divide, the process would be instantaneous.
Skyler was getting old, and the day's endless drama had exhausted him.
Having issued his final orders, he turned and left to rest.
Disgusted by the entire ordeal, Jonathan and Coleman had nothing more to say to her.
They followed suit, leaving Aurora entirely alone in the massive room.
But Aurora wasn't done. Consumed by a blind, rabid fury, she stood over Queenie's limp body and brought the vase down again and again.
She looked like a heartless butcher. Blood splattered across her face and ruined clothes, but she didn't even blink.
She stared down at Queenie with dead, remorseless eyes, as if she were looking at a corpse.
Right at that moment, a maid walked in from the courtyard.
Seeing the horrific scene, the maid dropped everything in her hands with a dull thud.
A second later, a piercing scream echoed through every corner of the estate.
"Ahhhhh!"
Jonathan and Coleman, who had just returned to their rooms, heard the bloodcurdling shriek and rushed out to the hallway.
When they saw the bloodbath at the bottom of the stairs, they froze in absolute horror.
