Chapter 186
The headquarters of the García company was unrecognizable.

The sleek glass doors that usually welcomed investors and dignitaries now swung open and shut to the rhythm of law enforcement boots. Uniformed officers carried out boxes of files, hard drives, and stacks of ledgers.
Secretaries whispered nervously in corners, executives sweated through their tailored suits, and the lobby echoed with a tension sharp enough to cut steel.
Alejandro stood near the reception desk, pacing back and forth, his phone glued to his ear. His tie was loose, his usually impeccable suit creased from the long day already behind him.
“No. I don’t care what the report says; that fire was no accident,” he snapped into the phone. “I want every name, every shift schedule, and every goddamn camera feed pulled. If there’s a ghost in my warehouses, I’ll find him.”
He ended the call and raked a hand through his hair, leaving it in a dark, messy disarray. His veins throbbed with fury, his mind racing between the fire, the sudden federal raids, and the gnawing suspicion that someone had orchestrated all of this.
When the elevator dinged, Alejandro turned sharply. Antonio stepped out, his presence commanding as always, but there was a heaviness in his eyes. Alejandro felt a brief flicker of relief at seeing his brother–relief that quickly hardened back into steel.
“Finally. What took you so long?” Alejandro muttered, striding toward him. They had split up, and Antonio had gone to the hotel that had caught on fire to handle things there, while he had come to the company to handle things.
Antonio didn’t reply as his gaze swept the chaos like he was analyzing a chessboard.
“This is a fucking disaster,” Alejandro hissed, keeping his voice low but sharp. “The feds aren’t just here for the fire. They’re digging into everything–money laundering, drug operations, and tax fraud. Lawyers are handling it, but—”
“They won’t find anything.” Antonio’s voice was cold, clipped.
Alejandro scoffed as he stared at the idiot he was talking to. Either Antonio was trying hard to convince himself, or he was being deliberately obtuse.
“This isn’t something that randomly happened, Antonio. If someone tipped them off, then they’ll find it.”
Antonio’s jaw ticked. He didn’t argue as he looked at the law enforcement office. Just as he opened his mouth to speak, a voice sliced through the air like a blade.
“Antonio García?”
Both brothers turned to see two officers approach them, one holding a document in his gloved hand.
Alejandro narrowed his eyes as he glanced at Antonio. It seemed the arrest warrant had finally been issued.

The officer held out the paper, and it was just as they suspected. “We have a warrant for your arrest.”
“Antonio Garcia, you are under arrest for rape and human trafficking. You have the right to remain silent…”
The words didn’t compute. For a moment, Alejandro was certain he’d misheard. His brother? Rape? Human trafficking?
If it had been for money laundering or what the law enforcement officers had been searching for, it would have been expected, but this?
His blood turned molten as the officer continued to speak. “What the fuck did you just say?” he growled.
The officer continued reading as though Alejandro hadn’t spoken.
Antonio’s face remained carved in stone, but Alejandro caught the faint flicker in his eyes–disbelief, maybe even fury. His brother wasn’t rattled easily, but even Antonio couldn’t mask the insult of this accusation.
“This is bullshit!” Alejandro thundered, stepping directly into the officer’s path. “You can’t just-”
The officer didn’t blink. “We have evidence and witness testimony. He’s been implicated by an arrested suspect.”
Alejandro’s fists clenched at his sides. He wanted to grab the warrant and shove it down the man’s throat. “There has to be a mistake! What kind of bullshit charge is this?”
“We have evidence and witness testimony,” the officer stated flatly. “He has been implicated by an arrested suspect.”
That was some utter bullshit! Alejandro thought to himself.
“You can’t just take him away based on some random bastard’s testimony! Our lawyers…”
“He will have his day in court,” the officer interrupted. “But for now, he’s coming with us.”
The officer reached for Antonio’s wrists. The metallic snap of handcuffs locking into place echoed across the lobby.
