Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 1793

There was one exception among the crowd: Henry, who just a minute ago had been wailing about not getting enough sleep. Watching from the window wasn’t enough for him—he’d already slipped outside and was now standing right under the porch, front and center for the showdown between Grandpa, Aunt Molly, and Mom.

He had the best seat in the house.

Hansen, locked in a standoff, finally lost his patience. “You’re all gonna be the death of me!”

From under the porch, Henry shouted back in his sweet, milky voice, “Grandpa, I’m not killing you!”

As soon as he yelled, Wayne started looking around. “Hey, where’s my brother?”

Andre was a beat behind. “Wait, when did he get outside?”

The mayor and his wife poked their heads out the window, shocked. “Why is Henry out there?”

Hansen pointed at his grandson. “I’m your dad, I call the shots!”

Just then, Andre stepped outside.

Henry looked up at his dad, innocent as can be. “Daddy, what does it mean to call the shots?”

Before Andre could answer, he gave Henry a gentle smack on the butt. “That’s not something polite people say.”

Eventually, Hansen gave in. “Alright, let’s all put down our ‘weapons’ and declare a truce, okay?”

Mia said, “Dad, give your cane to my husband.”

“I’ll give it to the butler,” Hansen replied.

“No way,” Mia shot back. “The butler’s always on your side! Give it to my husband.”

Molly yelled across their dad, “Mia, why not give it to my Chad?”

Mia answered just as loudly, “Because your Chad is Dad’s son-in-law! No son-in-law would dare cross his father-in-law. Dad can boss him around. Give it to my husband—he’s super serious. Dad won’t dare order him.”

Hansen was riled up. “Who says I wouldn’t dare? Andre’s your husband, but everyone knows he dotes on you the most. If I give it to him, you’ll just ask for it back and he’ll hand it over. That’s not fair!”
