Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 1744

“If you can’t do it, I’ll show you how.”

When Andre got home, the first thing he saw was his little son, broom in hand, kicking scraps of paper toward the trash can with his tiny feet. The table was still covered in shredded paper. Andre glanced over at his son, who was clearly in the middle of a punishment. “Let me guess—it’s him again?”

Mia supervised from the sidelines. “Who else could it be?”

“Daddy…” Henry’s voice was small and full of wounded hope.

Andre dropped onto the sofa, but before he could relax, Mia called out, “Honey, get up. There’s more of your son’s masterpieces in the couch cushions.”

Andre stood and reached between the cushions—sure enough, out came another handful of confetti.

He took a breath, looking at his son, who wasn’t even as tall as the broom he was hugging.

Henry clung to the broom, his chubby cheek pressed against the handle, lips curled in a perfect pout.

“So, what happened?” Andre asked.

Mia jumped in, “He found the shredder in your study and decided the confetti in the trash was just like flower petals. So he crawled up to the second-floor railing and tossed them all over the living room. The housekeeper tried to stop him, but he wouldn’t listen, so she came to get me. When I came out, he tried to run away, but I caught him and gave him a couple of swats.”

Henry pouted harder, clearly hoping his dad would swoop in and save him. Andre just shook his head. “You never do anything helpful, but you never skip a chance to make trouble.”

Henry’s grip on the broom tightened, his whole face scrunched in misery. “No bedtime until everything’s clean,” Andre said.

Mia watched her son trip over the broom for the third time and finally gave in. “Alright, you clean up the sofa and the coffee table. Your dad and I will handle the rest of the living room. Deal?”

Henry nodded quickly. “Thanks, Mommy. I love you!”

He was suddenly so well-behaved that Mia almost wondered if he’d been replaced.

Sometimes he won, sometimes she did. Either way, it was all in good fun.

Whenever Henry got into mischief, they’d set him straight, but he was still their little prince, always wrapped up in hugs afterward.

Thanks to Henry, Mia was up early every morning for school—even when she didn’t have class, she’d head to the library.

The weather was all over the place. Mornings and evenings were chilly, but midday would swing back to warm. Yesterday she was in short sleeves; today, she needed a jacket. The wind howled outside, and Mia just couldn’t focus on her studies. She packed up her bag. “Jamie, I’m heading out for a bit—going to check on my little rascal.”

“Want me to come with?” Jamie asked.

Mia shook her head. “Nah, you study. I’ll grab him something to eat and drink. I’ll be right back.”

Having their schools close by was the best part. Mia picked up a bubble tea and a breakfast wrap from her own campus, then strolled over to Henry’s school just down the street.
