Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 1680

Mars spotted his brothers in the crowd, his godson tucked under one arm. He laughed, “You should’ve told me sooner—I thought this was just some work dinner with her colleagues.”

Anya shook her head. “No, Uncle, I put this together myself. No boys allowed—” She paused, catching sight of the little guy Mars was holding. “Except for the babies, of course.”

Mars found himself liking Anya even more.

He’d actually thought about inviting Milka out with a few of his brothers, hoping Mia and Milka could become friends and maybe help him patch things up. But since he and Milka weren’t officially back together, and knowing how she is, Mars figured she wouldn’t go for a dinner with so much up in the air. That’s why he never brought it up.

He never expected Anya to pull everyone together on her own.

It made him happy.

Just then, Leo was standing next to his uncle, glancing at his watch. “Jade isn’t here yet. You think something happened?”

Andre looked at his nephew, making Leo a bit anxious. “I’ll call her.”

Andre said, “If she’s driving, she won’t answer. Check Wayne’s tracker.”

That jogged Leo’s memory. He pulled out his phone, checked the map, then spun around and pointed, “Isn’t that her? The car that’s been trying to back into a spot for ages?”

Soon enough, Molly’s big brother, her godbrother, and both nephews all headed over to help.

Andre coached his sister through parallel parking, while Henry, still in his godfather’s arms, chimed in with his own advice. “Auntie, just turn the wheel and give it a little gas—‘vroom’—that’s it!”

With all that assistance, Molly finally slid the car into place.

Andre opened the back door and scooped up his little nephew. “Go on in. I’ll come get you when you’re done.”

Mia waved him off. “Babe, no need. Molly drove today—we’ll just go home with her.”

Mars added, “But Milka needs a ride. I wouldn’t feel right letting her go alone.”

Andre shook his head. “Storm’s coming soon. You’re on your own.”

Inside the restaurant, they’d scrapped their barbecue plans—the rain brought a chill, so hot pot sounded perfect.

Henry and Wayne sat together, completely wrapped up in their own world, while the adults settled in for a chat.

Everyone had already introduced themselves at the door, and since they’d all at least heard of each other, conversation flowed easily.

Anya went around filling everyone’s glasses with water. “Auntie, Aunt Mia, Milka—you’re all so important to me. I just got my first paycheck, and I really wanted to treat you all to dinner.”

Tonight, there was no arguing over the check.

The little girl had grown up—using her first hard-earned money to take care of her loved ones.
