Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 1651

Milka laughed, waving it off. “I’m Milka, just friends with Mars. The kid was just playing around.” After all, nothing was going on between her and Mars—being called “aunt” could really send the wrong message.

Anya puffed out her cheeks, pouting in that cute way she always did. “But you know, kids usually get it right when they call people stuff.”

Henry nodded, totally in agreement—his sister always understood him best.

Mars looked up at the towering office building behind them and turned to Anya. “So, what brings you here?”

Anya smiled. “Uncle, I work here now! Just finished my internship.”

Milka blinked in surprise. “Wait, Anya, which floor? I work here too!”

A quick check, and they realized they both worked in the same high-rise—Milka on the 28th floor, Anya on the 23rd.

Mars grinned. “Well, look at that. You two can be lunch buddies from now on.”

He offered Anya a lift home, since they were going the same way.

Anya shook her head. “No, thanks, Uncle—uh, Aunt—oops, force of habit. Sis, I’ve been sitting all day. I’d rather walk and stretch my legs.”

Milka just smiled, not at all bothered by the slip.

The three of them piled into the car, with Mars up front and Milka cradling Henry in the back.

Henry pressed his face against the window, always eager for company. “Sis, come play with me!”

“Of course I will,” Anya called out with a grin. “I’ll come visit this weekend, kiddo. Bye bye, miss you already!”

As their car drove off, Anya spun around, a spring in her step as she bounced her way home.

While walking, she texted her boyfriend: Chad, I’m finally off work! Ran into Uncle Mars, and he was with this gorgeous lady. The little one was there too.

Mars shot back, “Okay, so first time you two meet after you get back, he gives you roses? That’s classic player stuff. Seriously, Milka, you’re too trusting—you’ve got a soft heart, and you’re easy to talk to, but that guy...”

Milka cut him off. “Alright, that’s enough. Henry’s in the car, don’t say that stuff in front of him.”

Mars huffed. “He’s just a kid. He hears it, but he’ll forget it in no time.”

But Henry was determined to prove otherwise.

That evening, after being dropped off at Maplewood Estates, Henry sat up straight at the coffee table, looking very serious as he reported to his parents: “Godfather says that guy’s no good, so real godmom shouldn’t hang out with him.”

His parents, three years into deciphering Henry-speak, got the message loud and clear.

Mia, snuggled up with her husband and hugging a pillow, smiled at her little gossip. “So, what did your real godmom say to that, huh?”
