Noah nodded and quietly told Alice, “Mrs. Cedillo and Henry were threatened by the Dark Web. The boss went in on his own.”
Taking the hint, Alice stepped into the office and found the man now taking charge. She greeted him with respect. “Teddy.”
Teddy nodded. “Call in all our overseas branches and every company under Cedillo Inc. I’m not showing up—this meeting’s yours and Noah’s to run.”
Alice nodded again. She and Noah put on their headsets, settling in at Cedillo Inc. headquarters.
The Cedillo Group.
Aaron and Cooper left at the same time. “Cooper, I’m heading overseas for a bit. Stay home and hold the fort—”
“No, you stay. I’m the one going.”
Cooper, phone in hand, was already dialing. “Send someone to pick me up.”
At the palace, a man was busy with paperwork when he heard hurried footsteps. He looked up. “Han, what’s the rush?”
Cooper’s voice was raw with anger. “My sister and nephew have been kidnapped!” he shouted.
While Aaron was still scrambling to book a flight, his son was already in the air.
Worried about Anya, Molly and Chad drove to Willowbrook Estates to bring her back to the Cedillo family home. Anya clung tightly to Wayne, her arms wrapped around him. “Aunt Molly, Uncle Wayne, do you think Mom, Dad, and baby Henry will be okay?”
“They’ll be just fine,” Molly said gently from the front seat.
Back in the gated community—
Leo had already led his team through the second firewall. Their phones kept buzzing, but no one bothered to answer—Tony just picked up and hung up for them, never glancing away from the screens. Everyone worked with single-minded focus.
Leo had even skipped two days of school for this.
Tony stood behind Leo, listening to his steady, clear instructions. Leo calmly told the team exactly where to hit next. Watching Leo’s steady back, Tony slipped away to make a round of coffee for everyone.
Soon after, Leo broke through the third firewall.
Some cheered. Others were left in panic.
“Riley, it’s him. He’s calling,” someone whispered.
Riley grabbed the phone, eyeing the familiar number. “Didn’t expect a call from you. This isn’t just a catch-up, is it?”
Tony’s voice was low and hard. “If you don’t want the Dark Web wiped off the map, tell Qian to let everyone go. Now.”
“Tony, your old seat’s been gathering dust for years.”
Tony stared at his own reflection in the mirror. “Riley, for the sake of all the years we’ve known each other, just back down. It’s the only way you’ll save the Dark Web.”
Riley shot back, “What makes you so sure you’ll win?”
“Tony, are you done in there? I need the bathroom!”
A shout came from the living room. Tony replied coolly, “What goes around comes around. Just remember that.”
He hung up, flushed, and walked out, his face giving away nothing.
