Evangeline had been about to refuse, but hearing his final plea and seeing his weakened state, she swallowed her words.

She figured Soren must have hit his head when he fell and would probably forget about this in a couple of days.

“Victor is back in the country,” Finn said. “Things are about to get tricky.”

Evangeline nodded.
