Isabelle fell silent for a moment, her face darkening. "Actually, forget it. I won't keep it from you. Someone posted on the school forum claiming that Elsie stole someone else's boyfriend.

"They're calling her a homewrecker. You have no idea how nasty the post is, and the people in the comments are even worse."

"A homewrecker?" Lillian asked in shock. "How is that possible? Is Cameron not doing anything about this?"

Isabelle said helplessly, "I told her to talk to Cameron, but she won't listen. She says she didn't do anything wrong, so why should someone else have to explain on her behalf?

Now the rumor has spiraled out of control and the whole school knows. What's worse is they're claiming you stopped hanging out with her because you knew what kind of person she was. It’s a total lie—how can they just say whatever they want?"

"No wonder people were looking at me so strangely today," Lillian murmured.
