Blue let out a sigh. "There is no other way. Her blood is the only thing in this world capable of purifying all toxins. It is the only way that man can live. As for Lilian, this time, there is no telling how long she will remain in a deep sleep."
"Is there really no other way to keep her from sleeping so long?" Little Fox asked in grief.
Blue looked at Little Fox as a sudden spark of inspiration flashed in his eyes. "There is."
"What is it?" Little Fox urged, his eyes lighting up with excitement.
Blue stared intently at the mini sun within the space. "If we infuse spiritual blood into her body, it can trigger a rapid recovery."
Hearing this, Little Fox turned away, dropping his head as he fell into deep, silent contemplation.
Inside the operating room.
Time ticked away, minute by minute. The girl lay quietly on the hospital bed, completely devoid of vitality, having clearly lost consciousness. As her blood was continuously transfused into the man's body, her complexion shifted from a deathly pale to nearly translucent. Meanwhile, on the adjacent operating table, the color was gradually returning to the man's face.
Watching this unfold from the side, Eric felt his heart ache intolerably. Forcing down the overwhelming urge to rip out the tubes, he turned his head away, unable to look any longer. He could not understand why Lilian had been so absolutely certain that she would be fine.
But seeing her utterly drained face and hearing her faint, shallow breathing, he forced himself to take a deep breath to steady his nerves. A moment later, a nurse spoke in a low voice, "Mr. Eric, the levels have reached the target."
Eric turned around instantly to check the data on the monitor. He walked straight over to the bed and, with utmost care, pulled the needle from the girl's vein.
The moment he touched her ice-cold skin, a wave of sheer terror struck his heart. But remembering what she had told him, he carefully lifted her up in his arms and walked toward the exit.
