Reject My Alpha Mate novel Chapter 12

Claire's POV

My wolf registered the pain in Dominic's eyes as he stared at me.

After years of devotion, I'd drawn blood to protect another Alpha. His betrayals had led us here.

He shifted human, disbelief radiating. "You defend him against your fated mate?!"

"He honors pack-law!" My wolf's truth rang out.

"How?" His challenge carried bitter notes.

"You bit me - your own mate. Has your love turned to moon-shadow?" The words held broken pride.

Alpha Marcus moved to my side. "Are you wounded, Claire?"

I shook my head. "My wolf stands strong."

Dominic's eyes pleaded. "Forgive me, Claire. Jealousy darkened my judgment. Return to Silver Crescent - we'll heal these wounds."

"Your thick skull refuses truth! I've invoked rejection! Our bond is severed! Leave our territory!"

His mate-mark pulsed with pain. "Scarlett means nothing! Only you matter!"

She touched his shoulder - he recoiled as if burned by silver, his Alpha rage turning on her.

"I'll banish her to her mother's pack if it brings you back to our pack," he offered desperately.

"The moon has set on us," I declared firmly.

His voice cracked. "Our bond was Moon-Blessed. Some ember must still burn. Return to our pack - no she-wolf will ever come between us."

I sighed wearily. "I rejected you because our bond died in shadow."

I turned to my Alpha. "Shall we rejoin the ceremony?"

He claimed my hand. "By your will, Claire."

The celebration blazed bright - moon-songs and sacred dances filling the night. Surrounded by true pack bonds, Dominic's intrusion faded like morning mist.

Three moons later, his pack-link pierced my barriers: [Claire! Dr. Marcus revealed your lost pup. Why hide my blood-heir?]

[You spurned me - why mourn a pup? The Moon Goddess spared it your betrayal.]

He fell silent. I sealed our pack-link forever.
