Pregnant with Tycoon's Ex Kneels novel Chapter 29

Chapter 29

Jensina paused for a moment.

Pushed down all my doubts and looked at Stanley, my voice clear and distant, I’ll go now.

Miss

Just nowthank

you,

Mr. Herring

Enrique started to say something, but then his boss’s cold, mocking voice came: Alright, don’t make a fool of yourself.

Jensina’s finger unconsciously brushed her fingertip, but she didn’t stop leaving.

Watching the black Maybach disappear into the night, Enrique muttered to himself, Talk about a curveball out of nowhere

What were you mumbling?

Stanley finished speaking in a calm voice, put out his cigarette, bent down, and got in the car. His figure looked a bit lonely in the cold winter

wind.

Enrique got into the passenger seat and said, Didn’t mumble anything, just thought the lady was way too tolerant of that Coleman.Every time she saw you, she was still obviously mad at you.

But why wasn’t she mad at Coleman? Coleman cheated on her so much, and he never went back to the old house with her, making her get punished….

I didn’t know why, but the air pressure in the car was somehow a bit lower.

Enrique always felt a chill on his back.

Zackary Nixon in the driver’s seat didn’t notice and kept talking, That’s of course because she liked him. Women are always this forgiving in front of the one they like, and their bottom line just keeps moving back.

Enrique always felt Jensina wasn’t like that.I don’t buy it.

Believe it or not.

Zackary looked at his boss through the rearview mirror, Boss, what do you think

When did you start talking so much?

The man’s deep, tough face looked cold as frost under the streetlight’s shadow, and his voice was cold and harsh too.

The two in front immediately went silent.

This didn’t say anything, either.

Why did you get mad again?

The road from the Herring’s mansion back to Oakwood Villa was clear.

But the road was slippery, so Patrick didn’t dare drive fast.

Warm air filled the car, and the atmosphere was quiet.

It took quite a while before Jensina felt her frozen limbs get much better.

She looked up at Coleman and was about to speak when Coleman asked, Are you mad?

No.

Jensina answered truthfully.

Wasn’t really mad, and it wasn’t the first time I’d been stood up.

At most, it was just the disappointment after being stood up.

But she didn’t expect that after Coleman sent a WhatsApp saying he wouldn’t come, he suddenly showed up

She was surprised

There were way more surprises than disappointments.

Coleman looked straight at her, watching as she kept her head down. What’s wrong? You haven’t said a word since you got in the car

You didn’t talk to me, either.

Jensina started talking and told everything:I didn’t expect you to come, it was a bit of a surprise.

I thought about it, the Herring family would probably punish you.

Coleman was as gentle and steady as always, his voice warm. I couldn’t stop worrying, so I thought I’d come pick you up and take you home

first.

Jensina was a bit dazed.

There was even a moment of confusion.

If she hadn’t found those photos in his study, she almost would’ve thought Coleman cared about her a little.

Coleman saw she wasn’t saying anything and smiled, asking, What’s wrong? In your eyes, do I really not care if you live or die?

He was joking.

And Jensina really thought so.

But she wouldn’t admit it, the corners of her lips lifted in a faint curve, her dimples barely there, and she looked so obedient.

Not really, I just didn’t want to hold you up from your important stuff.

It’s fine, the meeting was postponed to eight thirty at the last minute.

Coleman glanced down at his watch, No time to take you back, can you wait in my

office?

I could go back first

Not too long, huh?

Jensina didn’t refuse again,Okay.

She followed right behind Coleman into the Hardwick Building. At this hour, the place was lit up like daytime.

The employees of the Project Department were all waiting in the meeting room.

After Coleman went in, she went into the CEO’s office at the end of the hallway herself.

Probably because she didn’t sleep well last night, she was waiting on the couch and ended up falling asleep hugging a pillow.

The lights in the building went out one by one.

Only the top floor and maybe one or two offices still had their lights on.

She didn’t know how much time had passed when she was woken up by the buzzing of her phone.

The light was glaring. She covered her eyes with one hand and grabbed her phone with the other to answer. She sounded a bit confused, Hello

Sina, why weren’t you back yet?

Gertrude was freaking out.

She got home after working overtime, and it was already three a m, but Jensina still wasn’t back.

She was scared to death, worried that something had happened to Jensina at the old house

Jensina rubbed her eyes and slowly got used to the light, then sat up from the couch as her thoughts came hack. I’m fine, I was at the Hardwick Group waiting for Coleman to finish his meeting

What would make you drive straight through until three in the morning

I didn’t know either.

It was too late, and the central air conditioning had already been turned off.

Jensina felt a bit cold. She sniffed and said, I’ll go check the meeting room. Don’t worry, just wash up and go to bed first

After she hung up, she picked up her down jacket from the back of the sofa and stood up.

Just woke up, my legs were still a bit numb.

She slowed down and walked out. It was pitch dark. The meeting room and hallway that had been brightly lit before were already empty.

Where was the person?

She was a bit confused.

There was a noise from the elevator. A girl in her early twenties seemed to have dropped something and hurried into the meeting room.

When I left the meeting room, I only noticed Jensina by the light coming from the CEO’s office.

Why haven’t you left yet?

The girl froze for a second and started explaining a bit flustered, Sorry, I thought no one was here, so I turned off all the lights in the hallway.

Did you need me to take you down?

Jensina asked, Did you guys finish the meeting?

Yeah, just finished not long ago.

The girl remembered something and added, But Mr. Hardwick got a call a little after nine and left in a hurry. Maybe he just forgot to tell you because it was urgent.

Jensina froze for a moment.

Suddenly, I felt like my feet were back on the ground.

The little cupcake, and him suddenly picking her up tonight, both made her feel like it wasn’t real, almost unreal.
