Chapter 21
Not just him.
Coleman and Fredric were also a bit surprised.
Ever since Coleman and Jensina got married, this guy stopped paying much attention to them while also falling out with Jensina.
But he didn’t leave the WhatsApp group.
Every time we got together, everyone was used to calling people in the group chat, and Stanley barely showed up.
No one expected that this time he would show up without saying a word.
Fredric stood up and smiled, trying to smooth things over, “Stanley, what brought you here to hang out today?”
“On the way.”
Stanley gave him a slight nod and walked in standing up straight.
That guy just kept apologizing, “I ran my mouth, don’t take it to heart.”
The ones who were there were just relying on their family’s power and influence.

Only Stanley and Coleman were the ones with real power. Especially Stanley, that cold–blooded devil–he played both sides. In Los Angeles, who dared not show him some respect?
Stanley sat slouched, one hand resting on the back of the leather couch, “Just kidding, what are you so nervous about?”
“Alright, go play your cards.”
Coleman helped that guy out, then raised his glass to Stanley from across the room, “They’re all scared of you, you know that.”
“Is that so.”
Stanley picked up his glass and asked absentmindedly, Oh, really?
Coleman poured him a drink, acting like a good brother–in–law, “Have you been in touch with Sina lately?”
His voice was soft and lazy, “Didn’t you all say it? We fell out.”
“Just kidding,”
Coleman just laughed, “Who didn’t know you used to care about her the most.”
Jensina and Stanley’s past relationship, he knew best.
Ever since their parents died, Stanley didn’t care about anyone else, he just treasured Jensina, his little sister.
“How?”
Stanley looked at him with a half–smile and said,“Afraid I’ll give you trouble if you divorce her for Juanita?*
Of course not, but Coleman didn’t argue and just smiled, asking, “Can you?”
Jensina had just fallen asleep when she got the call.
A lot of old patients had her phone number, so she rarely put her phone on silent because she was afraid something might happen to them.
“Sina, could you come pick up Coleman?”
She was familiar with Fredric’s voice.
Her sleepiness faded a bit. She checked the time–it was 2 a.m.“Fredric, why don’t you call him a driver?”
She still had to go to the clinic for consultations tomorrow morning.

Fredric said, “It was hard to get a designated driver at Euphoria Club, all the club’s drivers were already sent out.”
He said that and sent the location over.
Jensina got out of bed, still half asleep, didn’t bother to change her clothes, just threw on a long down coat and walked out of the room.
Gertrude was a night owl. She heard a noise and poked her head out.“What are you doing up in the middle of the night?”
“Worked the night shift.”
The Hardwick family paid for a house plus a five million salary, so of course they had to treat it like a regular job.
Jensina walked to the hallway and picked up Gertrude’s car keys, “I’m taking your car.”
“Ah? Oh, okay.”
What kind of night shift was that?

Gertrude was stunned for a moment, and before she could ask anything, Jensina was already gone, so she just went back to her room to go over
the files.
The winter night was freezing cold.
Jensina pretty much cranked the heat all the way up. Fredric had already called the front desk, so when she gave her name, a waiter took her to the private room.
Even at this hour, there were still plenty of guests at the club, and you could faintly smell alcohol in the air.
“Ma’am, Mr. Hardwick, they were right in this room.”
The waiter spoke as he pushed open the private room door. Jensina instinctively started to say, “Okay, tha…”
The rest of the words all got stuck in my throat.
The private room had flashy lights on.
Stanley sat in the corner facing the door, most of his well–defined face hidden in the dim light, only his dark eyes casually glancing in her
direction.
She was thinking, was it that time in Germany she got cursed.
How come I never ran into this in the past few years, but lately it’s been happening so often?
“Sina, you came.”
Fredric waved at her warmly, “Come in.”
A few of Coleman’s buddies also said hi to her.
She gently pinched her palm and went in, calling out one by one, “Fredric, Garrett…”
When it was Stanley’s turn, she pressed her lips together, “Mr. Herring.”
As soon as that title came out, the air went silent for a few seconds.
Fredric and the others all felt a bit creeped out.
Stanley didn’t get mad. He looked at her with deep eyes and gave a little smile, “You call them by name, but I get ‘Mr. Herring‘?”
Facing him, Jensina always got so worked up that she blurted things out. Without thinking, she shot back, “What do I have to do with you?”
He said this himself seven years ago, the day he had someone throw her back into Madam Herring’s yard.
Jensina still remembered all of it.

He looked down and mocked, “Really think you’re my real sister? Jensina, what do you and I have to do with each other?”
Jensina finished speaking and looked away, glanced at the sleeping Coleman, and looked to Fredric for help.
“Fredric, could you help me get him to the car?”
“Sure, no problem.”
The atmosphere in the private room was so awkward it made people want to scratch their feet. He helped Coleman up and just wanted to slip
away.
Coleman didn’t know what got into him today.
People who were usually calm and composed started drinking after just a few words with Stanley..
Fredric helped him into the back seat and looked at Jensina, “Can you handle it? Do you want me to help you take him home?”
Jensina shook her head, “No, thanks, Fredric.”
“Thank what,”
Fredric smiled, “Better head back. Oh, and don’t forget to come to my birthday.”
She didn’t really want to get involved with Coleman’s crowd again,“we’ll see then…”
“What are you looking at? You went to Garrett’s birthday last month, but you didn’t come to mine?”
“Okay, I would go.”
Jensina said yes.
