"Right now, there's no hard evidence pointing directly to Flint. The police are still interrogating Tristan to see if he'll talk."
As he spoke, Julian gave them a brief account of what had happened.
In simple terms, "Sydney" appeared and was taken by the people backing Megan. Believing they had successfully drawn the Sterling and Hutton families' attention, they proceeded with the shipment.
What they did not realize was that both families had already suspected Flint was the force behind Megan, with Tristan and the DK Group acting as his public-facing fronts. Working with the police, they caught them red-handed during the transfer.
At the same time, Flint's side tried to use "Sydney" as leverage, only to discover that "Sydney" was an impostor and highly skilled.
As soon as Sydney heard that, she understood.
Tiffany, however, still looked confused. "What do you mean by a fake Sydney?"
"A disguise." Sydney answered for Julian, then turned to him. "I guessed right, didn't I?"
In that field, Alan was highly skilled as well.
Years ago, he had even offered to teach her, but Sydney declined. The reason was simple. Her focus was entirely on medicine. Until she had mastered it, she did not want distractions.
In the past two years, between the clinic and the special drug project, she had no spare energy anyway.
Julian smiled and nodded. "Smart."
There were two truly top-tier disguise artists in the country.
One worked for the police. The other operated in the gray market and charged an exorbitant fee.
Both could alter a person's face with nothing but their hands. Add a careful imitation of the person's mannerisms, and they could fool most people.
This time, because secrecy was critical, Diana made the call and brought in the one who worked exclusively for the police.
Tiffany stared. "Well, I've clearly been living under a rock."
