Sydney instinctively glanced toward the bedroom.
Julian read her thoughts and gave a quiet laugh. "He's here to see both you and Tiffany."
She understood why he would want to see Tiffany. But her?
Sydney blinked. "Me?"
What was there for him to see?
Just as she spoke, Polly came upstairs. "Miss, Ms. Agatha wants to know if you're still taking your medicine today."
Although her condition had stabilized, Sydney had not stopped taking it.
She considered it for a moment. "Not for now."
Medicine was still medicine.
As she spoke, the bedroom door opened behind her. Tiffany had already washed up and changed. She had not brought a change of clothes yesterday, but Sydney's clothes fit her well enough.
The moment she saw Julian, Tiffany smiled and teased, "Mr. Sterling, Sydney barely slept all night waiting for you."
Julian did not look surprised.
"I guessed as much." His tone carried a trace of helplessness.
When he returned earlier, Agatha had wanted everyone to keep quiet so they would not wake Sydney. Julian knew she would never sleep well if he had not come home, so he went straight upstairs and knocked.
It was just as he expected.
Sydney shot Tiffany a look, pointed downstairs, and smiled sweetly. "Mr. Hutton is here."
"Your ex is here." That was all Tiffany heard.
Before Tiffany could react, Sydney slipped into the bathroom to wash up. Julian stayed upstairs to wait for her.
Tiffany had no interest in playing third wheel, and she had no intention of avoiding Raymond either, so she headed downstairs without hesitation.
